How different is uncircumcised penis from circumcised?

I've been dating this awesome guy for a week now and we are planning to have sex on our next date. He told me he's uncircumcised during our conversation on second date.

So, I did a quick google search but I ended up more confused than before.

Some said, it's nasty and smells like old cheese no matter how much you wash it. And apparently there's a high chance of smegma. Basically few girls suggested it's better not to go down on uncircumcised man.

And some women said that it's no big deal and it's way more playful with extra skin down there.

What's your take? Should I go down on him OR just avoid it?

Update: Also, would it be rude if I ask him if he washes it under foreskin?

  • If a man doesn't wash, he will stink, and this rule applies to women. Surprisingly, information of smegma seems to be unknown to most. Everyone makes it, with women making a greater amount than men. If one washes, it's not an issue. I would think the woman rude if she asked about my hygiene, but would still tolerate such a question as a way to inform her.

I don't understand the oral fixation people have with penises, but if it does happen to smell (likely as everyone does) then a wash before play is a good idea. The same idea is also good for women to reduce smell. Some people like it, some don't.

As for the differences: the circumcised penis glans is permanently exposed, and develops a keratinized layer on it to prevent damage. This layer reduces sensation, and thickens over time, further reducing sensation.
Circ'd penis will have a scar on it. Every single one does. Some are more obvious than others. Roughly half of the penile skin is removed during the process, and as roughly 70-80% of sensation along with it.
Most circumcisions are in the US, performed in rural and Midwest states on infants. It's a cosmetic procedure, and also has complications ranging from only reduced sensation to chronic, constant pain, numbness, anorgasmia, and an estimated 100+ infants die each year in the US from the procedure, usually coded as bleeding or infection related.

I would also ask your questions, and cite experiences with your man before engaging, sobyou can understand his position. Given that infant circ rates are around 50% in the country, this will become more common in the coming years, which is good. Circumcision is destructive and the US is the only country to practice it for nonreligious reasons, seemingly to the horror of most of the world. I'm glad you found someone whole. Now you have a chance to experience a complete male. Many people lack an open mind enough to give a normal, intact man a chance.

  • It is your preference, and as long as he has good hygiene, there isn't much of a difference, except in appearance, and what some Women PRETEND TO KNOW, and THINK!
Some will say he has less sensitivity, and less arousal, and a lot of crap! Choose, for yourself, and YOU decide!!
I was, and would never reverse it, even given the choice!
Some women in America only know circumcised guys, and like how it looks, and if you choose to do oral, for him, maybe that is a factor, for you? I can't say, and YOU should decide for you!
I'm not really interested in penis, but I do think that they look 'nicer' maybe 'cuter' when circumcised!
Every lady I have been with, has been satisfied, at least, with mine, and maybe, like I said, it is a 'Cultural thing' in the US/Canada.

  • I'm from the UK so every guy I've been with has been uncircumcised. None of them smelt or tasted bad when I gave them head. It's natural and normal to me. If foreskin was such a terrible thing guys wouldn't have evolved to have one.

  • My ex was uncircumcised, never smelled bad and he could pull the foreskin back all the way, they should just wash under the foreskin

  • Aside from the foreskin I would say that the hygiene can be a little odd and sometimes they can look weird. If you are seeking smoothing relief, get yourself a penis health creme. It'll keep you feeling and smelling great down there. Good luck to y'all!

  • I'm gonna let most of the other commenters take this question because y'all have done such an amazing job with it- but honestly, the most important thing for a circumcised and uncircumcised penis is to keep. it. clean. keep it VERY clean. wash it with soapy water, use a hydrating lotion or moisturizing creme- just make sure it is moisturized and hydrated. I would recommend a penis health creme that has ingredients made for delicate skin.

  • Well if you don't wash then of course it's going to be smelly. It's super easy to wash and you'll have to be really stupid or not care about your hygiene at all if you don't wash it.

It's a natural penis and how it actually should be.

About asking I'm not sure it it's rude or not it probably depends on the person. I can definitely understand why you want to ask, I would have wanted to ask anyway because if they haven't showered in a while it will be covered in urine and other dirt no matter if circumcised or not.

  • Go down on him. I'm uncircumcised. The foreskin has lots of nerve endings in it that are extremely sensitive and make sex more pleasurable. There's a part of the foreskin called the frenulum, it looks like a string connecting the glans to the shaft - it's full of nerve endings and when my partner licks it it trips me over into heaven.

If he washes his penis regularly it shouldn't smell. I gently pull the foreskin back and wash the glans when showering and that stops smegma building up. If he takes care of himself he will make sure he's clean for your date.

  • uncircumsized is less prone to STDs because the skin protects from touching on the bowl or toilet seat.
As long as the guy has good hygiene which he'd be pretty dumb to ignore, its cool.
Circumsized guys tend to smell down there because after they've gone for a pee it wipes on their underwear, a circumsized guy tho the skin folds over and it self washes, that's why smegma occurs it happens when you dont have a wash for more than a few days. After folds it back and washes it it's all nice and clean again. Tbh you'll know if he hasn't washed it, his head won't look nice and shiny. It will smell too and then you can dump his ass because he was inconsiderate.

  • When he’s hard there’s hardly any difference. And about the hygiene side of things any dude who showers every day will be perfectly clean

  • Partially irrelevant, but am I the only one who just doesn't produce smegma? Uncircumcised and i used to, but now it's just stopped. Not even like I've changed my hygiene routine. I even chose not to shower for 3 days to test and got nothing. I suppose its a blessing (maybe I should make this a question).

  • well im uncircumcised and i know about the smegma probem but last time i had that issue was back in 2003. Ibeen washin it correctly since then and i have nevwr notice a terrible smell from my dick.

  • Uncircumcised penis has extra skin on penis and circumcised penis is nit having that skin. That skin make some serious problem if not take care of hygine mostly Muslim boys have circumcision and it's good for health purpose. Circumcision gives you health penis and bad odour and prevent from disease also extra skin is more prone to spread infection. I repeat if not take care proper hygine it's not compulsory that uncircumcised penis is always prone to infection. It's totaly depend on hygine care

  • Do what you feel comfortable with an both gugs an girls should wash up before sex as for feeling can't say

  • It just has a longer foreskin that covers the head. And no is you wash it and have good hygiene it won’t smell.

    • It wouldn’t be rude, but if he has bad hygiene you have a bigger problem.

    • Yeah, that's the reason I don't want to ask, because of course her's going to say "yes" even if he isn't.

    • Try it first so you know if he’s got good habits!

  • There is no much difference... I am uncircumcised and trust me, There is no much difference in it

  • The people that said stuff about hygiene obviously have no idea what they're talking about. Go down on him and have fun

  • I think circumcised is more hygienic... I think. stamina also improves

  • Exactly depends if they guy washes well his dick. I heard many girls not wanting to suck uncut guys off. I used to always clean in and out my dick well so never had any issues. I evn had girls telling me they wanna suck me off (I'm not claiming on being big.).
