I've done it about 10 times in Thailand. It wasn't even amateur night, it's just that there are very few rules in Thailand. My husband just had a quick chat with the owners of the clubs, and they all said it was OK. As long as you're buying drinks, they don't give a crap what you do. It's crazy, because in America, the women go to tanning salons, because they HATE being white. In Thailand, girls walk down the street with umbrellas on a sunny day, and buy "whitening lotion" because they hate being dark. It's the quintessential example of the grass being greener on the other side of the fence. If you went to Thailand and got on stage, the Europeans would yawn, and the Thai guys would drool over you. It's just the way the cookie crumbles.

If you can prepare yourself for a 12 hour flight, you'll be fine. Computer, games videos etc. But you won't see too many Americans in Thailand. It's mostly Europeans and Russians. I think Americans are more inclined to go to Hawaii, because it's so close. I've never been to Hawaii, but I hear the prices are insane. If you and your partner go to Thailand, just rent an apartment for a month. Even if you're just staying for two weeks, rent the apartment. You can pay about $300 for the entire month/weeks. You can get an hour massage for five buck. You can get a nude oil massage for 10 bucks.
