I find porn disgusting and degrading. Anyone else with me?

I know people will say 'oh but you're free to express yourself in whatever way you want' - I'm sorry - but whatever happened to expressing yourself sexually with one partner/the person you love rather than a bunch of potentially perverted men/women? I dont understand why people are so comfortable with making sex tapes, banging strangers, performing threesomes and all the rest. Even worse, sharing these moments with the whole wide world. Dont people get embarrassed at the thought of loved ones seeing them performing these acts online? Don't they feel ashamed? Maybe my views are too strong for some, but that's tough, because they're mine. Surely others must find pornography vile? Find the person you love, and stick by them. Have all the sex in the world with the one you love rather than banging every second person/videoing yourself fiddling away with your body parts at every opportunity. People should learn to have some respect. There's healthier ways to express sexuality.

  • All I can say is someone's got to do it. Think of all the women and men that decide they want to be stripers and prostitutes (not because they don't have an option but by choice). Think of the people that end up working at McDonalds or as a maid... Someone has to do it.

    These jobs are degrading when could have a much better one, right? But someone has to do it. Some of these people are satisfied with life some of them aren't but they made that decision.

    As for making sex tapes and their family and friends seeing them doing this and what they have to say I agree with you 100% but it's just something they're going to have to live with. Every action has a consequence whether it's positive or negative. However as for banging strangers, and performing threesomes and what you said about having a partner/lover if you haven't noticed that's not very common nowadays. I'm not saying it's impossible because it's not people still fall in love and have relationships but people also cheat, get divorced, have one night stands, friends with benefits, and everything else.

    • As it is regarding broken relationships, divorce and all the rest is to do with these laid back views that we have on sex those days. People are still committed - it is a choice. Many people are just making the wrong choices because society has watered sexual matters down. Ha, open my eyes? My eyes have been well and truly opened. And my opinion is not going to change. The 'real world' you're going on about isn't the problem anyway, it's the very 'real people' living in this world that cause the damage. So I'll keep my well informed opinion and my morals, thank you. Just because the 'real world' is lacking in moral stature doesn't mean that I will be too. Cloud 9? Is this cloud people orbit on believing that it's ok to go on recklessly like they're sexual objects. That's what cloud nine is.

    • You can't say at no point you don't know everyone in the world and neither do I. Maybe instead of doing illegal prostitution they just decided to earn a lot/easy money, become famous, and are guaranteed to not get an std or become pregnant. Some people do it simply because they enjoy sex so why not get paid for it? Everyone doesn't do it as a cry for help but of course you won't believe that.

  • Relax, most females agree with you. Watching porn does nothing for me and most of my educated friends agree. Watching porn for guys is just an excuse to masturbate. They fantasize that it's them. Now all the girls will come on and say, "I love porn." Half of them are guys masquerading as girls and the others represent a very small percentage of the female population. The Japanese had a law about 20 years ago that said if you going to make pornography you have to prove that the guy had an orgasm. Something like that. So all of a sudden they invented facials called bukkake. Now everybody does it. In pornography movies videos, girl supposedly loves it. So now everybody thinks it's supposed to be done.

  • There are many others who feel the same way you do, so know you are not alone. I think you are aware that your views are in the minority a tad, as many men and women enjoy some form of pornography (classic argument, is Playboy porn or art?). You don't have to apologize for your convictions, just be true to them.

  • While I usually don't watch porn because nothing beats real sex, Like it or not, it is free speech. If you don't like porn don't watch it simple. It is not your job to morally police other people. Not everyone views sex as a monogamous thing and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that

  • I don't think it's your decision what is and isn't disgusting. I may find some of your habits disgusting. They are working, doing a job. For those that aren't, they are expressing themselves it's just not something you would choose and no one is forcing you to, or to watch.

    • It is my decision what I do and don't find disgusting though, that's well within my own rights :). Plenty of respectable jobs in the world? It's up to people to want to find a decent job though. It's not self-expression either. It's not an art. It's just a way of drawing attention to yourself at the end of the day.

  • That's why they get paid absurd amounts. Not a lot of the girls who do it really like their job. They do it for the money. Some do like it but they are in the minority. There's not much else to say - its a means, not an end. Most people don't work because they love their job.
