Their behaviour suggest that they're very insecure and I'd probably call them on it. They'd either open up to you about it or close down completely and ask you to leave - either way, you didn't have to bail on them!

If I liked her, I might just ask her how to play one of the more simple games: at least I could reach around her and "buddy-hold" the controller.
