  • Is the way feminists and left-wings express it a myth? Yes. Absolutely.

Do men have privileges? Of course. Men have some privileges that women have and vice versa. Whites have some privileges that blacks don't have and vice versa. Person X has privileges that person Y has not and vice versa.

I really don't see an issue with that though.

  • it's absolutely a myth. The only reason men have ever enjoyed any benefits is because they earn them through merit.

  • No it’s definitely a thing

    • not in the west it's not, especially not present day

    • You’re shitting me right? I’m from montana, then I lived in Bellevue Washington and now I’m in Idaho, and I guarantee male privilege is a thing... especially white male privilege.

    • You're shitting me, right? Wonder why 3 men downvoted you? Why don't you give me an example of male privilege? Oh while we're at it why don't you tell me about white privilege too?

  • The idea of "privilege" is seductive; it means you don't have to shoulder the blame of not reaching your goals. you can say "Oh! I'm a victim of privilege! If it wasn't for privilege, I'd be (rich, famous, happily married, whatever)!"
Isn't it odd how, whenever someone wants to talk about privileged groups, they only talk about the perceived advantages, but never the disadvantages? Men make up 78% of the violent crime victims, 73% of the suicides, 74% of the homeless, 80% of the losts custody cases, and 93% of the workplace fatalities, to name a few. Does that sound privileged to you?

  • Yeah male privilege was a thing 100 years ago, but sadly we've evolved.

    1. Women have reserved seats in politics, trains, toilets etc.

    2. If a female charges a male with a fake rape charge, the male gets arrested even without investigation. This destroys his reputation.

    3. Men are just "sperm donors" now days.

    4. A man is expected to open doors for women, women first in ques, but still men are pigs that needs to be shot by feminist gun.

    5. Men are treated as second class citizen.

    6. Women are more likely to get away from a mistake than a man in social setting.

    7. Men commit suicide at a higher rate than women
    8. Men get longer jail sentences for the same crimes

    9. As a boy you get worse grades than girls.

    10. There are no safe-spaces for men/boys.

    11. As a man you get to pay child support for children that resulted of you being raped.

    12. Medical issues that mainly affect men get a lot less funding (if any at all) than issues that affect women. For example in the US President Obama slashed funding for research into prostate cancer

    13. when a woman hits a man in public it's "you show him girl!" when a man hits a woman in public, people call the police or beat him up

Who wants to be a male in this modern society?

    • Do you have any evidence to substantiate these claims? Because so many of these things you’ve listed sound like myths themselves

  • As a FT working single dad , I have absolutely F all " privilege " ... quite the reverse , partnered mothers at my workplace get more leeway than I do , for one example. I have also had the " privilege " of a lot of sexism from women that assume male = pedo / sex predator and / or unfit parent , but to be fair , a lot of that is due to anti male " media " propaganda.

  • Honestly yes. The wage gap doesn't exist

  • It's a myth.

  • In Western society, yeah.

  • I like how you always include "I'm asexual" as an option as though it has something to do with that, lol.

  • Before it was't a myth, but it's a myth now.

  • ofc its a myth

  • No such thing

But female privilege is a thing

  • It's real, but pathetic little boys whine and pule that it's a myth.

  • Yeah

  • nope

  • The polls are so divided.

  • It's not very clear. I know. It's sad that there's such a stigma on it and that we have to fight to prove that we are victims to. Even sadder still that this all diverts from the issue and people just get caught up between male female arguments. It's horrible for either side.
