It's not the clitoris's fault that our current society prioritizes the activities that give the most physical pleasure to males (such as penetration) over the activities that give the most physical pleasure to females (via clitoral stimulation). The Bible's Song of Solomon references male-on-female oral sex multiple times.
Before someone says that the clitoris is a byproduct of the penis: that myth drives me crazy because it makes no sense because if that was the case, women would pee out of their clitorises like men pee out of their penises.

19 53Evolution is complicated. Human and societal interactions are complicated. Having children is necessary for our genes to propagate but so is having parents stick together to raise them. If every time a couple had sex they also had kids, it would be really difficult to raise them all. The position of the clit probably played some part in that balance. We need to be social creatures to survive in large groups and recreational sex plays a part in that.
Are you proposing that the external part of the clit helped encourage sex without reproduction? If so, I wonder why a male equivalent has not also developed.
What the guy was talking about is just the glans clitoris, the structure of the whole clitoris is perfectly placed as it is still stimulated even through vaginal intercourse. And the glans is basically a small penis so it makes sense that it is in the same place soooo...

This is a very interesting question. The clitoris certainly deserves a lot of attention. I've often thought just what you mentioned (and rejected as an argument) about the location of the clitoris: Why is it located in such a way that it's not directly stimulated during intercourse? In other words why isn't intercourse something which makes guys and girls equally likely to orgasm? Because for most girls they don't orgasm from intercourse alone. And you're absolutely right about the clitoris not being an offshoot of a penis. Embryologically a penis would more accurately be considered a "byproduct" analogue of the clitoris rather than vice versa. That's because of the fact that the default course of embryologic development is female. The effects of the Y chromosome only kick in later in development and the tissues which would by default become a clitoris become a penis instead.
So we are where we are with regard to the location of the external part of the clitoris. As you mention there are lots of ways to address this and give it the attention it deserves both during intercourse and with standalone stimulation like that mentioned in Song of Solomon.

It is there as a way to grant sexual pleasure to the recipient. You are probably right though... The animals that have sex for pleasure are possibly motivated by what the clitoris can do... Sure, pre-ejaculate can contain semen, which might contain sperm, but usually the actual ejaculation and the jamming of the penis as far as it will go during orgasm is what usually does it... Reproductive purpose... Is like the vagina going through menstruation... There's a reproductive purpose for it... Males ejaculate into the vagina... Which animals try to get the sperm to the egg in waiting, if there is one; and the female orgasm doesn't do anything to assist with that. You cannot suggest that a female having an orgasm has anything to do with a woman with accidental pregnancy, planned pregnancy or the like. You want a child, you're going to need a human male, and you're going to need sperm, which usually doesn't come out without sexual stimulation and a potential male orgasm.

It's called ejaculatory anhedonia; it's possible to release semen without orgasmic pleasure. For both men and women, orgasm serves to motivate people to pursue their respective reproductive strategies
So for the females that do not have an orgasm... Other than the general pleasure because women do not get off to the same thing across the board, what is there for it? Bonding? They clearly aren't in it for the orgasm if they have never had one and don't know how to achieve one. I would rather not get into the latter part of that. That's a whole other tub of rats.
For some, not all women, its position is flawed. Yes, parts of it surround the vagina, but the glans, the focal point of pleasure, is literally high and dry on many/most women; having vertically long vulvas. With the volume of erotic pics and vids on the net, it is easy to see that some girls are vertically compact and the fore stroke of intercourse draws both the urethra and glans clitoris into the vagina. My guess is that these girls have a much easier time reaching orgasm from intercourse.

I think its location is great. It means the man who takes the TIME to stimulate the high and dry location is the better sex partner, a likely pair bonder and the woman will stay with him longer to produce more children which he will help raise because of the bodacious and frequent orgasms he gives her!!!

No, generally it evolved perfectly because if a man has a tapered or stepped girth nearer to his pubic bone it will stimulate the clitoris via the sexually aroused and swelled bulb of vestibule and labia. The labia pull on the hood/prepuce and stroke the clitoris/glans externally during thrusting. The bulb of vestibule swells during arousal pushing out her vulva and tightening the opening. Since it is erectile tissue, just like the clitoris and connected to the clitoris, abrupt changes in penis girth during thrusting pulses the bulbs, which also pulses the clitoris directly through the blood pulses into the clitoris stimulating it internally. The bulbs change pressure according to his penis-shape-thrust and that is transferred to the clitoris directly. The right penis shape and the right clitoris can naturally give her orgasms. Short strokes can really work this if he has a good girth step.
Oral is really for when things don’t work too good e. g. the pill typically kills this sensitivity and/or some women have really tiny clits that take a lot of work. A good-sized clit, no-pill (natural cycles), girth-taper and size usually result in piv natural orgasms.

That's another reason why the clit is outside the vagina: so the man needs to show that he's considerate enough to stimulate her clit, instead of just jamming his dick in her vagina for his own pleasure. If a man doesn't show that he cares about giving her pleasure, that shows he's selfish & won't sufficiently support her during pregnancy and thereafter. So many women will dump a guy who won't make an effort to make her orgasm, because it proves he's a low-quality mate. And if a woman has an orgasm during foreplay, that usually makes her more excited to be penetrated by him (& therefore take the chance of reproducing with him). These functions would be nullified if the clitoris was inside the vagina & could only be stimulated if a woman had already taken the risk of pregnancy with the guy.
These guys who think the clitoris is flawed for not reliably inducing orgasms during penetration are just bitter that they would have to make an effort to make a woman orgasm, which proves that they wouldn't be good mates for women to risk reproducing with.

It's almost like orgasms, for both men and women, aren't a necessity, but have the function of encouraging men and women to pursue their ideal sexual strategies (which for women, is to find a high-quality mate, which is why women orgasm more often with attractive and/or wealthy men).

It's a disorder that proves that men could very well have evolved to ejaculate without orgasm. Also I did a poll on here & most guys said that they have ejaculated without orgasm before. I think you're referring to something different though. You keep saying "it makes no sense for men to ejaculate without sexual arousal or sexual stimulation." Sexual arousal or sexual stimulation =/= orgasm. If an "orgasm" to you is simply "sexual arousal" or "sexual stimulation" then you must have pretty weak orgasms.

let me rephrase what i said: it makes no sense "from the perspective of evolution" to ejaculate when there's no woman around to ejaculate into in order to procreate. that is why men do not ejaculate ahedonicly.
presence of a woman in order for the sexual organs to start doing their work and then ejaculating semen once the male sex organ is inside the female procreation orfice is a necessary condition for procreation. the woman does not require to do anything. the semen itself will do the thing that is needed in order to fertilize an eg without her doing anything for it.
