I wear thong bikini when I'm on the beach or river... mostly for tanning purposes however I do enjoy the feeling of being almost nude. with that being said I usually pack a second more pg13 pair of bikini bottoms as well. Public pools or areas that can quickly become full of kids or tweens are a good reason for me to switch out.
