Men tend to find me attractive but why is it that I am only viewed as a fleshlight and not a human being?

I get hit on or stared at constantly by men. Doctors, nurses (I work in healthcare), random people in the streets, hell even a celebrity.. but no one wants to date me/get to know me.. it just seems like all they’re after is sex. I’ve been celibate two years.. I have no intention on betraying myself by breaking my boundaries in order to please another person.

What could be the reasoning as to why I am never the dating/wife material? I have my shit together. I know how to have fun. I am very honest/loyal/kind to people.. I just don’t get it… why am I always being viewed as a sex object?

My mom would always tell me growing up that beauty is a blessing and a curse… and I don’t see the blessing in dying single and not with a life long partner..

  • Another single woman who has reached her 30s and still hasn't figured out what good men want yet. <smh>

    • Interesting thing for you to say considering the fact that I’m only ever approached by fuckboys who want to bust a nut and dip.

    • Interesting thing for a woman to say considering she is the only person who has any control over the factors that make her valuable to men.

    • By the way, MrOracle gave the best and most insightful answer here. I'd suggest reading it carefully.

  • This is an extremely common question/complaint from modern women. Unlike in the past, it seems modern men are only interested in sex and not relationships or marriage. So what has changed?

What do modern women bring to the table beyond just sex? What did women of the past bring to the table that today's women don't? What benefits do men get from marriage that outweigh all the costs, risks and lack of benefits men face today in marriage?

Men will always be sexually attracted to women. But for men to want more than just sex, women need to offer more than just sex. And it has to be enough to justify a man making the sacrifices men make when they marry a woman. Women need to stop judging their own value based on the factors on which they value men. If women are ever to regain their non-sexual value to men, they have to start by actually understanding what it is. Most women today truly don't.

    • So what benefits are men looking for beyond looks to begin with for sometime long term?

  • It's simply hard, for just about everyone. Nobody (especially these days) bothers to take the time to get to know someone, really know them I mean. And women will always be viewed for their beauty initially, that's something that will never change. My advice (and what I've done as I have nobody either), be happy otherwise with yourself and your life, seriously. You don't NEED someone for a happy fulfilling life. If that person comes along, they will only add to your already happy life.

  • Could be a ton of factors. The most common thread I’ve noticed are you could be attracting or are attracted to a certain type - the most attractive guys will give attractive women the most attention but tend to sleep around because they can. Many won’t settle down until later in life. Personally I’m nothing special but I know when I see very attractive women I will admire from afar but wouldn’t waste my time approaching. I’m sure I’m not the only average guy that way. There are also an increasing number of guys over the last couple of decades that aren’t settling down at all, so it may not be specifically you.

  • You are dealing with boys.

    • Not every man can be just a boy. Ones I deal with on a regular basis are college educated and doctors lol. Makes no sense to me why they can’t look past my looks and see me as someone other than imagining what I look like without my clothes on.

    • Being a boy isn't a matter of education; but maturity. Anyone who treats you as a sex object is immature.

    • … literally every man has treated me that way except my gpa, dad and brother. Interesting.

  • Because nobody is serious about committing nowadays. Men are afraid of getting with a woman who's been with 50 other guys before him and will leave him as soon as someone better comes along or she gets bored. Women are increasingly more picky about trivial things and aren't bringing what they used to to a relationship like having children and initiate 70 percent of divorces, plus men are still expected to do all the work to win over a woman.

    • I haven’t been with that many men.. I legit just ask for honestly, loyalty, respect, and consideration. Pretty standard
