Sexual Health Nudes before sex?

I was recently given the advice that before embarking on a new sexual venture, that nudes might help with getting us more comfortable. Is it better to know before hand what they look like naked? Or to be surprised at the time?

I wouldn’t ever since nudes unless you are in a serious relationship and been dating for at least a year. If you send nudes you will end up being used for sex or black mailed. Never send nudes with your face in them

On the one hand I can see the advantage like you'd know what they look like and all of that, on the other hand nudes are risky im not interested in then myself and wouldn't want to send or receive them.
As for me I think sharing that intimacy and something like that should be more special then through a lense.
With the comfort thing I can see the appeal it could be that you take things slow maybe make an effort to say even go swimming together so you see more of each other but in a more normal context to build comfort then you could progress through like taking bits of clothing off slowly. As well as that take the sexual acts slow as well j don't see the appeal of going to far to fast as you think its better.
