Research Question for Women: Do you like being choked during sex?

I am doing some research for a human sexuality class. This is real question with real consequences for my research paper. The study concerns developing sexual preferences and boundaries of men and women in Western society. If you don't enjoy choking and/or pressure around the neck, PLEASE say so and answer "No", as this information is still very valuable to my study. Also, THIS IS NOT erotic asphyxiation (whereas you lose consciousness from typically self asphyxiation). If you enjoy this sort of behavior but not choking by a partner, please do not answer the question. Thanks everyone! Answer honestly and keep an open mind! ;) Please answer as follows: Do you like being choked during any sexual intercourse and/or foreplay? Yes/No If so, how much pressure do you prefer?   • yes I do... probably 4. It's very hot if its not too hard... it makes me feel like he controls me and I like that. but only if he's not a freak about stuff like that. my boyfriend rarely does it because he doesn't want to hurt me which makes me trust him because he isn't violent towards me and I have to ask for him to do it. an ex did it to me.. but he also hit me when we werent having sex, so I didn't want him doing it because it was for wrong reasons. hope your study goes well!

    • Thanks! And yes that is definitely for the wrong reasons... glad you're not with him anymore. My thesis actually deals with trust between partners. I'm hoping to show that more extreme sexual acts between longstanding couples actually correlates positively with higher levels of trust. For example, if a woman allows her partner to choke her at a high level of intensity, she's also more likely to trust him to pick her up at the airport on time haha. Sounds funny I know.

    • ahhhh well see I definitely would trust him to do it that hard ahah I just don't like it too hard... I'm a bit claustrophobic actually a lot lol which could help you! if a claustrophobic person allows her partner to choke her and the only reason for a light level of intensity is just because that feels best to her it shows she definitely trust him I think

  • I don't mind his hand around my neck, but no actual choking...so I'd say like a 1.

    I actually had an ex squeeze my neck really tight before and honestly I think he was doing it to be mean because I wasn't "submitting" to sex, but he tried to play it off like he was just being kinky. Either way it scared me and I didn't trust him after.

  • Shouldn't you be using randomized samples for your data. I got to think that this data is biased since people on this site will tend to answer a certain way. Just my thought.

    • maybe, but I'm taking samples from literally dozens of different kinds of sites as well as physical surveys at my university. this is site will probably account for less than one percent of my data.

    • good good. I don't wanna have to start arguing about how your data is inaccurate. Next step: analyze it correctly.
