Should the word "faggot" be considered hate speech or should it be protected under free speech of the constitution (U. S. A.)?

Here in my hometown, I saw on the news yesterday, a man complaining about his neighbor calling him a faggot (which he is) on multiple occasions, he recorded the man calling him that word and reported it to the authorities but there's nothing that could be done because the word "faggot" is protected under free speech. #HateOrFreeSpeech

  • Until gays start rioting and looting that ain't going to happen.

  • There is no hate speech exception in the First Amendment. "Hate Speech" is just a synonym for speech that you don't like or that offends you. If you feel offended by such speech, don't listen to it or read it, but don't expect that the law will cater to your tastes.

  • Yeah it should be hate speech

  • Free speech

  • It's free speech , plus who cares about gay people

    • The majority of the population cares about people who are homosexual as a sexual preference.

    • @ecfresh the population is dumb there are some level headed people who can see that homosexuals aren't right in the head

    • I was answering your question about who cares about homosexuals. Their level of intelligence wasn’t in question.

  • It would be impossible to make the word "faggot" hate speech, because a faggot is a bundle of wood. And a fag is a cigarette. Who could ever prove which meaning you were referring to? Only you know what you meant.

    • LOL... gotta a point.
