Think hard about this one. What was the last thing you did that you completely enjoyed and felt fulfilled in doing?

Yeah I'm fully expecting sex answers to show up, but im hoping we go beyond that and not just think of "yeah that felt good" as opposed to "I feel whole now" because of accomplishing it.

  • I've been working non-stop for three weeks on these papers the 22 kids (aged 8 to 16) that I've been tutoring for this pandemic school year, I've prepared personal study guides for each of them, since not only they've been learning about different things but also at different pace. And I also included a smaller set of stuff that they will be seeing on their next grade.

I don't think they will be thrilled right away, that I just got them more school for their summer, but these are just guides and simple exercises that they can pick up any time and study at their own pace if they really want it, and many of them have been very eager. Some of them are very into studies, they'll just love it, but others were not keen at all first, and they were actually "forced" by their parents but we managed to connect well and to find a way in which it got interesting and even rewarding for them.

I honestly feel really great about it, one particular moment comes to my mind, to see this kid jumping off his seat and then looking at the screen shocked... and so happy that finally "it makes sense" math made sense to him and he could actually understand "why" and what was going on, and then he said this is awesome!!! so this one and other few moments make me really happy, and makes all these never ending typing at the computer and with my OCD tendencies (which I really don't like) a wholesome and fullfilling nightmare. I'm really really glad to be a part of their accomplishments during this weird school year. Good stuff.

    • Aww I love hearing about moments like this! Also, thank you so much for your work in education. Educators of every kind dont get enough credit for their efforts.

    • all worth it (=

  • I am not bragging but once I saw an advertisement showing that there is an organization that is raising funds so that they can give winter clothes and meals to the street boys or you could say homeless. They fixed an amount that is enough for one person to eat one meal and you can donate for whoever much you can. I didn't have much money but when I saw that amount I waste on some unnecessary stuff or some extras snacks can actually give one full meal to a homeless child I immediately donated as much as I could. And when I felt that the money, I used to waste is going to help a needy for their meal or clothes I completely enjoyed and felt fulfilled in doing it.

    • That's awesome of you! Thank you for helping out

    • You are welcome, I wish I had more extra money to help those needy

    • Same. Generally we donate gently used clothes and toys. I used to donate my hair to wigs for kids when I would keep it really long down to my lower back. (Its about mid back now). Each Christmas we go to the store and tell each of our kids to pick a present to donate and they get to be part of that process as well. Its about giving what you can in the end. I know I have been extremely blessed and if I can share that with others in need then it is the least I can do.

  • On the weekend I helped someone with a project and it was actually very fulfilling. I like learning things, I feel like a more informed person, and I like helping people who I know and like; and they were very appreciative, so it's a win-win for sure.

    • Oh yeah? Mind if I ask what it was? I dont mean to be nosy but I am a very curious person who likes to know a little bit of everything lol

  • Last week I received an email from the woman who I proposed to twice, and who turned me down both times. Is there something still there? It's insane to imagine it's the case, but I love her so much!

    • Temper expectations but preserve hope. Good luck my friend 😊

  • I set a new personal best at my local mountain biking track yesterday.

    • Awesome! Any improvement shows all the previous effort put in was worth it. Way to go!

    • It was double awesome because not only did I break it. My father pushed himself extra hard with me to break his. We both got the same average speed. There is a reason we use average speed over time.

    • And during Father's day weekend. How perfect is that? Congrats to you both!

  • The beginning of last year when I finally started college (yes, super late I know). It was exciting. But then covid and lock downs, restrictions hit and my every thing went down hill. I did not sign up for online classes, nor was I prepared for them. So my grades suffered for it!

    • Nevermind. I read fulfilled as unfulfilled

  • Last summer I replaced all the trim on my house and replaced the decking on both my decks. I replaced my sump pump and built new front steps. I did this while collecting unemployment. It was like the government paid me to fixup my house.

    • Not a bad way to get paid and also sounds like a lot of hard work but the results were worth it 😊

    • Yes, it was hard , especially the sump pump. I had to jackhammer my basement floor to get the old sump out. It was a lot easier 20 years ago.

    • That couldn't have been fun while still recovering from your...(come on memory...) hip?

  • This is pretty sad, but I can’t even think of anything
No closer to a sane work/life balance than I was a year ago, still in the same shitty suite and driving the same truck, just shit the bed on a couple exams I wrote that would’ve set me ahead at work and totally blew it with the best girl I’ve ever had a shot at 🤷‍♂️
Been a long year of great effort and little reward

    • I'm sorry hun 😞 It has been a crazy time for everyone but im hoping things improve for you really soon.

    • Thanks 😊 There’s been some little victories, but just kinda realized recently it’s been long time of busting my ass with nothing to show for it

    • And now you can take that realization and make time to do something for your self only
