What do men mean when they say they like a girl with "meat on her bones" ?

Are they admitting to a fat fetish? I hate it when guys refer to 'meat'!! What the hell is meat? I'm not a chicken!!

  • Lighten up, just a bit, OK? It's supposed to be a 'Term of Endearment' and how some guys say that they really like you!
Not every guy wants one of those thin, boney women, with hip bones, and ribs, showing, but they are soooooo popular!!
Why not just relax, and TRUST that some guys like women with soft, sensual curves!!
yeah, OK, Society says that you are 'fat', maybe, but I prefer 'Sensual' and 'Cuddly' more than the 'meat on her bones'!
But I am a VIKING, by my heritage, and I REALLY LOVE, uh, well, now you messed it up, for me!! I'm unsure to say that I like all that, because you seem so angry, about it!!
One of my favorite things, is snuggling, in bed, in winter, cuddling close, and loving all of her soft, sensual, cuddly parts!!
If you want to judge yourself, and hate on your body, then hate it, that I like some 'Meat on her Bones' meaning I LOVE those soft, cuddly curves, snuggling, and cuddling, and loving her!

    • If you like fat girls, then that's on you. Everybody's got a preference no matter how gross it may be :)

  • "Meat" refers to muscle and some fat. It is NOT (necessarily) a fat fetish. Believe me, I was "discriminated" against as a man who was thinner. I was worked out a lot and was about 10% body fat. I was about right according to the Robinson formula and "overweight" according to the Miller formula.
Likewise, I preferred heavier girls when I was younger. Now, I know better and find my wife's slimmer figure more attractive.

If you're within 10 (or even 15) pounds of your ideal weight, don't worry about it. As your metabolism slows, you'll probably add "meat" whether you want to or not. (ha ha)

  • I wouldn't say fat its just means they like girls with bigger breasts or butt or thighs or all of em together
Basically they dont like complete flat girls and the reason they say meat is because fat is not the right thing to say cause its not always fat it could be muscle or just being toned but sometimes there are girls that its just fat but cause its not always fat they say "meat on her bones"

  • it can just mean a bmi over ten. or it can mean very fleshy. no one meaning except more than skin and bones. peoples perception of that is not the same though.

  • They usually intend Curvy Women :) not too skinny... something like this

    more or less

  • I wouldn't say fat, maybe fat in the right places. Or a curvy girl or something.

  • That really is a crude way to describe a preference for curvy women. It might just be a carryover from the expression about skinny guys that they need to put some meat on those bones.

  • That doesn't mean they have a fat fetish. It means they like it when women have big breasts, big butt and maybe a little thicker thighs.

  • A Little more Fat where it is At.
Many guys Don't seem to Like a Bag of Bones when it Comes to their Booty Here, dear. xx

    • lol It's okay to "Cluck" when you didn't understand the deal. xx

  • It's a metaphor for not very skinny girls.
He don't like super skinny girls simple

  • They love some of that baby fat on a girl

    • Ewww!! lol

    • Think that is ucky! I had a regular customer from my work who use to say: " I like my women so skinny that when I hold them up and shake them I hear her bones rattle"

  • Do you really not know the phrase?
I say it all the time. What I don't want is some woman that is nothing but skin and bones. I am 6' 3" and 290. I carry the weight well but I am still a big guy. I would worry about hurting any woman that was skin and bones during sex. Besides it just not being attractive. I want a partner who will share that order of cheese fries with me, not eat like a rabbit, can handle me being on top of her and has the curves that turn me on.

    • I'd heard the phrase & never liked it. I'm not a large girl. I don't like someone referring to my "meat", that's offensive & disgusting. I don't want to be put into a category with a bunch of fatties. But if you like big girls, to each their own :)

  • It means they like curvier girls rather than just skinny girls.

  • I would think a size 8 and above. My wife is generally an 8-10 and curvy. I don't consider her fat at all. If a grown woman is a size 2-4, I would not think she was unattractive because of it, but it's unusual.

Yes, 'meat' is a little derogatory but most guys don't mean anything by it in this phrase. But if he says, 'she's a fine piece of meat', then I would consider that inappropriate.

    • I hate "curvy" lol!! What would you say is the difference in curvy & fat then?

    • I don't want to sound insensitive or degrading, but here's my 2 cents. Several of these terms are ones that I don't like to use, but this is what I think of when I hear them. Skinny = Thin, small or almost no boobs. Sometimes sickly. Olive Oil from Popeye. Can be affected by wardrobe selection to a small degree. Curvy = Prominent hips and boobs. Proportionally smaller waist, but not too thin. Hourglass figure. Very attractive in my opinion. Marilyn Monroe type. Can be affected by wardrobe selection. Stocky or stout = More of a masculine build. Relatively broad shoulders and somewhat muscular. Boobs can be large or small. Waist and hips close to same size, usually with a flat butt. (Can't think of a famous woman right off that fits this category.) Can be affected by wardrobe selection. Fat = Large all over. Generally large boobs, large butt, thick neck and no defined ankles. If wearing pants, midsection spills out all the way around. Wardrobe choice can not hide this.

  • That's an old saying. When I was a teenager, older guys would say things like that. It just means they like girls that have curves, and maybe a little bit of fat.

  • Christ you must be oblivious to how meat exists on a creature. If humans were food animals, Meat on the Bones means not boney and skinny

    • I'm a vegetarian, thank you :)

    • Doesn't change reality... <.<

    • What reality is that?

  • Meat is not fat
    it IS curvey voluptuous attractive
    so anti- A. Hepburn

  • It simply means they don't like a girl who is stick thin/anorexic,
They would much rather have a girl who has a definite and well defined womanly body/figure.

  • Naah. We just mean well fed, not bony like fashion models.

  • "What the hell is meat? I'm not a chicken!!"

It means they like fat chicks... er, girls! ;)

    • What? lol

    • Jokes aren't funny after one explains them. :\

    • I don't get it... :)

  • It means they like a woman that isn't just skin and bone lol. Not necessarily a fat woman, they just are sayin' they don't want a chick that looks like she hasn't eatin' in years.

  • We like a girl we can feel when were holding her in our arms.
A girl with some weight on her not a real thin girl.

  • They mean extra flesh in the form of curves - it's not necessarily a fat fetish.

  • It means he's not into skinny women, or at least not too skinny , wheter or not that means he's into cubby or fat women depends on the guy.

  • they like girls who are closer to cubby than skinny

  • No it doesn't mean we want to be with a land whale.

What that saying means is that we do not want a woman to be or look like a layer of skin under a skeleton we want her to have muscle to have mass.

In other words we want a healthy looking woman that's fit, neither super scrawny or large but the nice median.
