What do you think of the idea for a consent card or using an app before having sex?

If it really comes to this, and having a consent card, what is next, when that fails or is forged? A Priest, Father, or Imam, having to give some moral test, a series of questions, for 'permission' to have sex?
There are enough rules, laws and crap, already!
People need to grow up, be responsible, and stop making excuses for being idiots when they cannot handle alcohol!!
Maybe we need a license for one to drink? Maybe some medical testing, and comprehension, and dexterity testing, after each drink! Then, the card has a limit number! If you have more than that limit number, you cannot have sex, and if you do, being too drunk, YOU are the IDIOT to blame because you can't handle that much alcohol, but drank too much anyway!!

Right. Some years ago, my wife and I attended a party, and our friends and their baby was there, also. I held the baby in my arms. According to my wife, seeing me holding that baby lit a fire in her loins. She couldn't keep her hands off me. As we were at a party where some children were present, she kept it PG. But she was VERY touchy/feely/kissie with me all evening long. And I could see it in her eyes, that "I can't wait til we're alone" look. When we drove home, her hands wandered *under* my clothes. When we got home, she began peeling my clothes off *before* we made it to the bed. Then? Epic naughty time. Also, I remember once I came home from a meeting up in Sacramento. I'd been away a few days. I couldn't wait to get home to my wife. I thought about her A LOT. When I came home, she could barely get off a "hi" before I kissed her into sweet oblivion. I picked her up, carried her upstairs (neither of us could speak for all the passionate kissing), and off came her clothes without a word. Again, epic naughty time (I'm getting turned on just remembering this)! EPIC! And we spent the rest of the evening doing epic naughty time again and again. Barely a word exchanged between us except for the occasional breathless "I love you!" Now, imagine those two scenarios being interrupted by, "Honey, could you sign this, please?" Fucking absurd. Why stop at an app or a card? Why not require the card be witnessed and notarized? Consent needn't always be verbalized or written.

Grow up and learn to read the cues. Verbal or non verbal. by the way, as Bandit correctly points out, this is NOT a safe way to give consent either. Anyone, male or female, can simply claim that consent was revoked. Do you honestly think, Jj, that I somehow did NOT consent to my wife tearing my clothes off simply because I didn't sign some bullshit card? Or likewise she didn't consent? I assure you, we ENTHUSIASTICALLY consented without a word, and to have signed that dumbshit card would definitely have killed the mood. If you don't know that, I doubt you've been with many people. Do you honestly think that married couples should sign this dumbass card EVERY SINGLE TIME? No matter how many years they've been together? Is there ANY point where written agreement is no longer necessary? Any point at all? My wife kissed me without written consent. She held my hand without written consent. She touched with without written consent. Any one of those things can be sexual assault. Why not make an app/card for those? And before i was married, I got touched by men and women alike without written consent. Since touching can be sexual assault, why not have a card/app for ANY touching? I got back rubs without written consent. Women placed their head in my lap without written consent. Women kissed me without written consent (on one occasion so did a really drunk man). Women grabbed my but without written consent (men too for that matter). Women held my hand without written consent. People SPOKE to me without written consent. Why not have an app/card for that too, since some idiots would have us believe that so much as a single flirtatious remark is harassment. Do you think there should be a written consent for SPEAKING to people?

Won't hold up in court. You need my 16 page consent form from my personal legal department signed and initialed on each page along with a blood sample, a jiggly part swab administered by a professional, a recent passport photo without wearing a hat or glasses, acknowledgement of anyone she may have a binding relationship with, a list of her properties and assets and finally a sample of her chocolate chip cookies. Once the lab results are in and all other documents from the due diligence have been received and my lawyer has reviewed and approved the documents and sampled and approved the chocolate chip cookies, we can proceed to the next step which is some air bending, wolf howling, out of this world doinking!

Yes! Great idea. This would protect so many men. However, by itself would not hold much value because anyone could fill it out at anytime. Would need something to prove this card was filled out willingly and while both people were sober.

Most girls will become turned off/offended and not want to sleep with you in the first place if presented with that card and even if they did sign it there is still nothing preventing them from saying they changed their mind right before or midway through sex and that you continued anyways against their wishes. That would still be rape because consent can be revoked.
