i'm not a doctor, nor i'm anywhere near to be an expert on the topic.
but i have a theory, during the formation of the fetus, it remains genderless until a relatively late in develoment, that's why we guys have nipples even when they are functionally useless.
so going back to the point, is keeping in mind that in chromosomes, XX leads to a woman and XY lead to a man, it could be seen that, the fetus will by default be female when the time for the sex to develop comes.
Of course, if there is a Y chromosome, this is the point where it kicks in and the fetus develop into a male.
probably the reason why there are more MtF transgenders than FtM is because of this part of the process, something doesn't go has normal and so it leads to the develoment of gender dysphoria on MtF patients, and since for a woman to be born there isn't a need for the Chromosome Y to activate, this would be the reason why FtM are by far less common.
granted, i read about this and i belive that this could be the case when you see the other ways an abnormal activation of the chromosome Y can result, has with hermaphrodites and having the wrong genitalia
As I know the conditions that cause a person to experience gender dysphoria (I cannot talk of other types of transgender persons) are related to unnormal hormone concentration during pregnancy. I think it is not out of the question that the hormone mix that causes males to experience gender dysphoria is more likely to occur during pregnancy with a male than its counterpart is during the pregnancy with a female. I have no evidence either way, I'm just throwing it out there.
TL;DR: May just be nature being weird.
I guess because this proves my theory, women/girls are the BEST. Lol no really honestly I think because there seem to be more gay guys then females and they want to feel more female. No matter how girly they dress they've never been female unless they pushed a baby out of their vagina or had a period, once one of these occur then they can call theirselves a female.

Maybe the tendency for being born in the wrong body is bigger than for girls or maybe some girls just depend too much on other people's opinions and might be too scared to change their gender

That ones easy. All men have at least one X chromosome. No women have a Y chromosome. So all women are 100% females and all men are part female and part male and on average half of each. So it stands to reason that it is more likely for someone who is born half female to eventually transition to female than for someone who is all female to transition to male.

I think transgenderism is noting more than out of control sexual perversion and that men, having higher sex drives than women and typically being more diverse in their sexual appetites will be more apt to this.
Also society doesn’t expect women to be tough and strong, but men are shamed it they’re not, so for effeminate men it may be an option to choose with the idea in mind they’ll be more accepted for being “softer”as a woman rather than a man.
