Why are thigh gaps seen as so attractive?

Thigh gap
plenty of women who are not fat do not have a thigh gap. So what makes a thigh gap so attractive to men?
I have one but do not see what is so special about it.

I know you're asking those who find them attractive, but for the record, I don't care either way. A gap or no are equally attractive to me, probably because I don't usually look at that area of girls publicly to notice a difference... Cuz if I was looking at that area on all girls to see what they had, I'd come off as a bit of a perv.

For me it's the whole package, where maybe one thing isn't perfect but the rest compliments it all and makes it better overall.

I think this pic says it all and clears the doubt. I'd always want a girl in left pic rather than one in the right. My conclusions are as follows: 1. The gap intended might have been the one in the left pic.. just a small one.. but ended-up spreading till bottom.. may be under some confusion or competition 😜 2. If things rub too much while walking or other activities, some people might start having rashes or darker skin or other ailments and that's why they prefer a gap. So ideally the gap, if any, should be just enough that thighs don't rub that often or that hard and without compromising on curves, however, it ended up getting parallel uncurvy legs.

The thing is I’m not underweight I’m very fit and a little curvy. I still have one of these gaps so my thighs don’t touch all the time. So it is possible

I remember a girl in my college and I didn't like her specifically for this reason. She was very petite.. no curves.. and adding to that her legs seemed to be.. I think it compliments the butt and upper legs. When i look, i don't really notice the gap all that much. But, i do notices the upper legs and the butt. Then i think, " She has a nice ass, most work it out a lot, with a lot of lunges and squats". I then get the urge the touch it, but of course, i don't act on that urge when not appropriate or i know she ether doesn't or wouldn't want to be touched. I have a huge attraction to thigh gaps. It has to be on the right woman though. I would write poems about her beautiful thigh gap of which she never read. I was in high school and she was the most beautiful woman I ever met.
