Why do many people want to know your body count aka how many people you've had sex with?

What use is this information for people and before anyone just say "curiosity" well why does that make people curious?

Are they comparing their own body county to theirs? whats the big deal? Is a higher body count something to be celebrated? does it mean you're one of the cool kids? or maybe people just wanna judge them for the high count... or the low count, or someone with no body count at all. I just don't get it lol. i never asked for this nor do i really care about it.

If anyone else wants to come in here and try to say there's a link between promiscuity and infidelity better back it up with evidence first.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infidelity

Under “causes” on the Wikipedia page there's no mention that promiscuity will lead to an adulterous relationship or marriage.—This peer reviewed article posits that promiscuous people who get into monogomous relationships remain faithful.

What Girls & Guys Said

  • Everyone has a past. Unless somebody has a huge body count which might suggest commitment issues I would not care what it was.
I had a past, so why is okay for me and not for a girl?

  • Maybe out of jealousy or to compare their own

    • Yup and also insecurities

    • True

  • Well I have a an extremely rare immune disorder call APDS II. It would therefore be absolutely foolish of me not to enquire about a woman's past sexual history as I'll need assurances that I won't get any STDs or any nasty infection.

  • Some people are fucking nosy. 🙄

    • ikr smh

  • In my opinion, sex is one of the things that just drives people to do and ask what they want in this modern day times. I know people with higher body countsare possibly unstable for relationships or they're walking around with an STD, which is scary because a lot of people are walking around with diseases and don't even know.

I know it wasn't completely related to your topic but that's all what I had.

  • Butt hurt people being jealous they ain't getting none

  • My guess is, they want to know if you fuck and how prolific are you at fucking. Some figure the more you have fucked the more you've worn out your sex organs I guess.

    • Which is pretty bogus

    • Absolutely!

    • Utter bullshit. Also, let’s say you, hypothetically speaking, had only had sex with one man for 2 years. Estimate north of 4000 times. Does that make a woman less worn out than one whose slept with multiple men the same total of times? 🤔

  • right plus how often you m

    • How often you? Do it you mean?

    • M for masturbate! i see that question every day

    • Ohh. Is this something you want to know?

  • I could care less. I assume a mature women has been with others before me and that she has experienced many partners. Rarely is someone pure and to seek it is illogical.

  • K think just to know how experienced you are. I don't care if they ask my body count if they think it's low or high it's there pinion.

  • Yeah especially women on here. It's kinda weird.

  • Gives you information about their personality and values

    • so if you have a high or low number does this make you a worse person?

    • Depends on your values

    • and do you value you this? if a woman told you her body count was high you would likely think twice about dating her?

    • Show All
  • To know your experience?

    • And why is that needed to learn?

    • You need performance and not someone who is below average?

    • Why is that necessary?

  • i think they want to make sure if you are a player/hoe or not...

    • ehhh those terms are pretty vague. they might sleep around but for all you know they were very responsible and safe about it.

  • I'm not saying there's a link between promiscuity and infidelity, but the article doesn't say promiscuous people stay faithful, it says they aren't more likely to cheat.

    • As in the tend to remain faithful... yes.

    • Nope, that's not what's being measured, as in "tend to remain faithful", what's measured there is number of partners last year. People who cheat don't cheat every single year. On average infidelity is around 50%. That's not "tending to be faithful". That's not more likely to be unfaithful.

    • It still diesnt mean there's any correlation

  • POV: Your significant other asks this exact question and you start getting anxiety cuz while you ain't hot in bed but you a mass murderer

  • Good question, I can't imagine it is that important and rather personal.

  • Because it's a risk

    • And what if they assure you they were safe about all of that and provide proof that they never got anything? Therefore no need to tell you how many. And therefore no risk

    • I'd be even more concerned

    • Why?

    • Show All
  • I can only really answer to my own reasons for wanting to know what a girls body count is.

I like to know what their count is, so I can compare with my own, but i only ask in context of a conversation, so the count is then followed up by other questions, like where all X number age range, or which of these was best, or what one longest with
    And alsorts of other questions

  • Insecurities, or the very rare possibility that they think you’re diseased. Simple
