Why do US news anchors look like dolled up porn stars?

Exaggerating to make a point obviously, but you get the point. I just recently moved to the US and where I'm from the news and even the weather is read to you by people that are middle aged, dressed in plain colors, showing virtually no skin, have plain hair and make up. Even at the trashy channels

And I get to some people that seems weird, but it makes sense to me. I mean you want your information from someone that appear to have some authority. Someone that doesn't have to flaunt their boobs to make a living, like professionals I get that sex sells but news aren't selling a product, but even if the news? Isn't that taking it a litle too far?

I just don' get why? Why would you want your news read and discussed by someone who looks like she is audiioning for he latest reality show not someone who looks professional? I mean where are the religious people when you need them? And notice how it's only the girls? The guys look old and dressed appropriatley. If you saw a muscular dude in tank top reading the news you'd think that's ridicoulous and it is, but why is ok for the women?

And I'm not saying new anchors shouldn't be pretty or that pretty women can' be smart. If let's say Kate Middelton was reading the news to me, I'd be perfectly happy with that. But let's face it, how you dress makes a huge difference in how people see you, so again I don't get what's with the sexualized new anchors?

Mostly you mean Fox News, they're the most blatant with decolletage look, but all the female talking heads, except for a couple of veterans probably only there because they threaten age discrimination lawsuits if they are replaced... look like candidates in the Miss Universe pageant.

I think it's because the news is produced by corporate structured organizations, and the heads of these organizations are older males looking for 'escorts' after work, to be polite about it. So guess who gets hired?

Every watch Don Trump's reality show? I think the corporate news is quite similar.

Honey I work in sales - which essentially is what these ladies are doing, selling the news - and these outfits/dresses/clothes are common place for the industry. It's a means to an end, a tool to influence the desired outcome; which in this case is beating the competition and achieving higher ratings. It's an old game that's been going on for a long time, even before I was born.
