Would you consider this to be sexual assault or rape?

First of all, this has not happened to me, but I know girls that it has happened to. What if someone threatened to do something to you that could potentially destroy their life unless you had sex with them? For example, what if they knew a devastating secret of yours that they said they would expose unless you slept with them, even though you don’t want to? I know that it probably wouldn’t meet the legal definition of sexual assault or rape because the person didn’t physically force them self on you or use violence, but to me, that sounds like the sort of thing that Harvey Weinstein was doing. Do you think that qualifies as “forced sex?”

  • Sextortion is extortion involving material of a sexual nature, but it can take various forms.

The FBI defines sextortion as “a serious crime that occurs when someone threatens to distribute your private and sensitive material if you don’t provide them with images of a sexual nature, sexual favors, or money.

Typically, the perpetrator has (or purports to have) some compromising images or videos or the victim. They threaten to publish them online or share them with friends, family members, or colleagues if the victim doesn’t provide more material, engage in sexual acts, or hand over money.

In nutshell it's sextortion. Hope it answers your question. Any queries or further help needed?

    • Interesting! I’d never actually heard the term sextortion before, but it certainly fits the definition of what I’m talking about.

    • I was glad to share with you. 😊

  • Mental harassment and Rape, there is no consent, the girl is not willing jumping in for sex..

I don't know who Harvey Weinstein is but he has no game.. Wanting a girl to have sex with you is one of the easiest things to do, it's her self control that holds her integrity... Not every girl is easy, each girl is different and all girls are different, even married women will gladly have sex with an attractive single men, if she doesn't has to cheat, and it's for fun...

  • Um, that is MOST DEFINITELY RAPE. Forcing someone to have sex with you, whether by threatening with a knife to your throat or that they’d expose a secret about you, it’s still forcing you to have sex, it’s still sexual assault, it’s definitely rape, and definitely a crime.

  • It's coercion. It's legally rape by definition. You don't want to have sex with them. You seriously don't. You're not doing it because you love the person and want to have sex with them, you're doing it because you're scared. That is NOT consent even if you say yes.

  • Its considered black mail and possible sexual assault since it is an attempt to humiliate somebody into sexual acts they don't want to do

  • It's coerseon and fits the definition of sexual assault or rape. It's like a boss threatening to destroy your career unless you agree to suck his dick.

  • It is an attempt to seduce, coercing sex under duress and blackmail. I don't know if it would qualify as sexual assault, it could be construed as illegal.

  • I think it's more blackmail. But I hear you when you say it's forced sex which is the definition of rape so you make a good point.

  • That is illegal -_- it is sexual coercion. It is assault. It is fucked up.

  • It's blackmail more than anything. But no, I don't believe that can be considered to be sexual assault or rape. I think to meet those definitions, the forcing would have to be physical, not mental or emotional.

  • This sounds more along the lines of blackmail - which is also still a very serious crime

  • No don't be retarded, it's not rape or assault!! That crime you described is clearly called; EXTORTION (AKA: blackmail).
You should go to the police.

    • It didn’t happen to me. No need to be salty.

    • Well, pardon me then... I didn't realize I was being salty. My apologies.

  • It comes under blackmale and is highly illegal

  • That's extortion. It's illegal too.

  • Yeah, that's pretty clearly rape to me. They're still threatening to ruin your life, and in some ways having society know a person's secrets is worse than a physical injury.

  • Sexual assult is things like unlawful touching of the breasts or vagina

Rape is forced intercause without consent.

  • It is hey type of rape and the individual needs to be beaten to death over a long slow period of time

    • Also even stupid enough to fall for that I feel for them cuz they just gave that individual more that they can blackmail with

  • Yeah without a doubt.
    Black mail
    Extortion/sexstortion
    Rape

Rape is when someone uses threats, violence or coercion. What he did definitely qualifies.

  • Rape, extortion, blackmail

  • It would seem to be a crime of some sort, not sure what. Blackmail, sexual assualt? Would need a professional opinion. They ought to approach police.

  • Yes this is blackmail sex falls in rape category according to me

  • Rape - it’s not consent when you’re under duress and being blackmailed.

  • Its called coercion. By law it is not rape - else the rape statistics of men and women would be roughly equal.

Morally I think it's a tricky thing and at this point I think we should - just like with murder - have different degrees of sexual assault.

  • Ya consider this and complain Police department strict action😡😡😠
