Do guys prefer a shaved girl opposed to a non-shaved girl? Please answer!

So I am starting to get my hairs [down there] and am wondering if when they fully grow,i should shave them? Many of my friends say that they shave and that guys don't wanna be with a hairy girl. I am scared to because it might cut me or something,also I have heard that you are more prone to disease and ingrown hairs because the hair there protects the vagina and such from bacteria. Please guys tell me your opinions on this please,and girls,do you shave,do you not shave,what's it like,do guys prefer it,your opinions&experiences all please comment. Thank you(:

Most of us guys don't like hair down there but ultimately it's your body that you have to live in not us so you should do what YOU feel is right. The reason I like a girls down there to be hairless is because hair there can actually catch and keep bacteria and sweat which also keeps odor there. So having no hair there is cleaner, feels great and makes the area there more sensitive to touch. Besides, the female "down there" is a very pretty part of the body to look at. It can't been easily seen if we have to swim through a thick rug of hair. I'm sure you would feel the same about guys. If you shave there be careful not to cut anything and use a clean, sharp, multiple bladed razor and shave in the direction the hair is pointing too. (probably toward the ground) If you shave against the grain, you'll itch and may get ingrown hairs. I recommend using Nair cream, lotion. It's easy, fast and the results last a long time. Just make sure not to get any of it on your clit lest it will sting a lot! Nair Vs. razor especially if you start removing hair only using Nair from the start will be sooo much easier for you later on because using a razor only will make your hair grow back thicker and more frequently as you go. Follow the time directions exactly and you'll get great results! To get any stray hairs you may have missed, do use a razor with the grain only. After patting your down there dry, apply lotion to keep any chance of ingrown hairs from happening. If it makes you feel better, guys shave too! I use Nair for Men and am completely hairless down there. I wish they sold Nair for Men when I was just starting to get my hairs down there so I could have started using that instead of razors! grrrrrrrr

The fact that a girl wasn't shaved in that area wouldn't put me off in the slightest, I personally wouldn't mind if she left the area natural, id do everything I would do to her shaved as I would not-shaved. I think honestly you should be the one to decide this, you don't need us guys to tell you how you should take care of yourself :P its your choice. Anyway, rather than shave and risk getting cuts and ingrown hairs there is still always going to be guys who don't have a preference and actually like the hair down there so you won't need to worry about possible cuts. An alternative to shaving though if you really want to get rid of the hair there is you could simply just trim it down a little or use hair removal creams like Nair, although (don't count on me for this because I'm not completely sure) I have heard that these creams are very irratable on the skin and cause temporary rashes, but when using them make sure none of it goes inside you!

For the majority of guys though, most will have a preference for a girl who shaves down there but really there isn't many guys who are going to consider it a neccessity, just a preference so you could think about asking them if you have gotten to the point of having sex, asking what he prefers should come quite easy... I think for most guys though they will be happy with whatever you have, they would probably just be turned on enough by being able to play with your vagina that they won't care so much about the fact that your unshaved. after all its a beautiful thing.

I use scissors, and I go slow. I am not saying I haven't cut myself many times, but I hate the feeling when it's really long. When I get my period, the loner it is, it irritates me. My boyfriend enjoys a cleaned cut, it doesn't have to be completly naked, but he likes the short feeling. Yeah, it keeps it clean or something, but not a whole lot. It's not like your gonna die if you trim it. It's just a personal preference, your safe either way. When you cut, use small scissors I reccomend. And go s-l-o-w. Takes awhile

I basically only shave if I know I'll be getting some action. Otherwise I'll just shave my bikini line, and keep everything trim and neat down there. I've been with a few guys that haven't had any problems with hair, but I myself feel sexier when I am nice and smooth down there.

The hair growing process after shaving SUCKS though. It hurts!

Oh I mis read the question a bit, hair won't really protect your vagina, human females have an "open reproductive system" as in, there is a lot exposed, hair is basically for warmth and there is no longer a need for such a thing. perhaps in the stone age it keep you warm and stopped dirt and things but now, it does nothing if you had bacteria on the hair, it would surely get in your vagina. cut it how you like. don't let it turn into a jungle. and we'll each find someone to have sex with someday.

Yeh I don't know I feel so pressured by the world and what guys like. I am an outgoing,brave,spunky,and confident girl, but wen it comes to sex and relationships I am very self-conscious about what guys think and about my body in the sense of my private areas. Many people say they like shaved girls and its pretty pressuring for a girl,to make a decision based on what guys like and what is best thought of what she should do w her body.

And I have a lot of hairs too! My advice to you would be to find someone that feels comfortable with a bush! lol

It's your choice, but most guys don't like a bush. If you're not comfortable shaving then you could try trimming, they make electric razors for the bikini area and you can choose your length. I personally use an epilator, which is something you do at home that pulls the hair from the root, painful, but has the same effects as waxing without the costly regular visits. (smoother for about three weeks, hair grows back thinner.)
