Since the pill was invented, all sorts of conservative fanatics were spreading rumors about the pill. They were trying to discourage women from taking the pill, because they were worried that if women start taking the pill, they will be more promiscuous about sex.
Anyway, most rumors about the pill are either completely false or highly exaggerated. The "weight gain" rumor has a grain of truth, but is mostly an exaggeration:
Most women will NOT experience any weight change as a result of taking the pill. Very rarely, some women will have some minimal weight gain due to water retention, but this is only temporarily and goes away after 2-3 months. Furthermore, there are a few types of pills, and if you do suffer from water retention, your doctor can try switching you to a different pill.
I think that at some point in the past0 0 0 0Im not a girl but I heard it affects girls differently. You may gain weight... you may even lose weight it depends. I doubt it would change the bone structure so no your hips likely won't widen

Your actual hips (the bones) aren't going to get any wider than they were before you started birth control, assuming you are all the way done with puberty. Getting pregnant will push your hips a bit wider. Birth control pills do make a lot of people gain weight, and it can sit on your hips. This happens because the pills are basically tricking your body into thinking its pregnant, so its preparing for a baby. So you might gain 10-15 pounds, but you can definitely still lose it afterward.
0 0 0 0It depends on how your body reacts to the hormones, what brand you use etc. After I started birth control pills I've had this uncontrollable hunger, really bad. But as that is said, some girls don't notice a thing! I don't want to scare you away from it, 'cause it's such a useful thing, especially if you have a boyfriend or a reglular sex partner. You just have to figure out a brand that suits you.
0 0 0 0no, no, no. nothing happens. if you gain weight, it's just water weight and you just ask your doctor to put you on a new pill that won't cause water retention. pills don't cause weight gain anymore though, they do help your acne though lol.

2 0I've been taking the pill for like 5 months now and no weight gain. In fact I've had pretty much none of the horrible side effects I was scared of having. It just depends how you will react to it.
0 0 0 0it can. No way of knowing for sure how the hormones will affect you every woman is different.
