I'll be honest, it's not the most attractive thing in the world, but I also expect that it will be there for some girls. I've mostly been with blonde girls, and they either didn't have hair there or I wasn't with them long enough to really notice it.
My longest relationship was with a brunette who had pretty dark pubic hair. The first time we did it doggystyle with the lights on, was the first time I noticed a handful of long-ish, stray hairs emanating from her butthole. It was alternately gross and kind of endearing, like a reminder that she was a real person, not some object that I had fantasized. I also remember noticing at another point that they were no longer there. I felt happy that I wasn't looking at them, but also kind of bad that she felt the need to shave what I imagined was an uncomfortable place to put a razor. We never discussed it, though.
I think one of the reasons it looks so weird to me is that it's so incongruous. A lot of guys have entire butts that are covered in hair, so it's not really anything out of the ordinary for their buttholes to be swathed in a corona of fur. Most girls, however, don't have any visible hair on their butt cheeks so butthole hair seems sudden and shocking in the moment. I will say, though, that I am one of those guys with a rather fuzzy set of butt cheeks and I do shave around my butthole because it feels cleaner to me. That's a personal preference, though, and I doubt I would do it just because someone wanted me to.
I try to trim whatever I can, but it ain't much.

Some people choose to shave, I won't lie I first shaved because it as my first time being active but after I feel much better and cleaner. Also the thought of my poo sticking to my ass hair is a big no no, Me and my boyfriend are very open he shaves his ass too.
I hate body hair and try to stay smooth as much as humanly possible.
If I had control over how my body worked, I'd have no hair what so ever except for eyebrows, eyelashes and head hair.
