For me- cramps hurt, A LOT. I have polycystic ovarian syndrome so I get physically debilitating cramps, sometimes it hurts so badly I can not move. I also get migraines, and have to have no light or I'll cry from the pain in my head. Also, my hormones go mental so I do have a very short temper unfortunately, although when I realize I'm about to come on I tell people in advance so they don't think I'm just being a bitch. I often have very heavy bleeding, so much that once or twice I've been borderline anemic which is only exacerbated by the fact I can't eat when I'm on my period, it makes me feel physically sick. I also have a trapped nerve in my back and the cramps during my period give me extremely bad back ache and I have to take an awful lot of codeine. Not good stuff.
Seriously though, there are things that people can do to make it better. My mum makes me lots of hot drinks like tea or herbal infusions which make me relax a bit. You can take evening primrose oil every day and that's meant to help with cramps. A hot water bottle is always useful or just a back rub. Although I never want to do it when I'm on my period being made to have some exercise, even just a long walk will really make it better, plus I'll be able to sleep properly which is often a problem when on my period.2 0 0 1Estrogen levels drop dramatically. causing mood swings.
Along with head aches, nausea, cravings, plus your back and/or stomach hurts, blood is just coming out like Niagra falls, and you want to curl up and die
And if you say one wrong thing there's gonna be some guy saying "EHL OH EL U MUST BE ON UR PERIOD HAHA I CAN TELL HAHA CUZ U MAD HAHA DO U NEED A TAMPON HAHA"
No shit I'm mad! Everytime I stand up I feel like I'm pissing myself, my head is throbbing, my back hurts like I'm about to give birth to a brick, and even my asshole gets sharp stabbing pains sometimes.
You wanted the truth... hope you can handle it0 0 0 0Yes, personally it does hurt a lot... (((PLUS))) During your period there is a chemical imbalance in your brain, there's a loss of dopamine (The feel good, light hearted, good mood chemical) So some girls can get cranky. ALSO it CAN hurt a lot. Most of the time I would much rather just die than live through it. Really the best thing for you is if you know its that time for a girl, lay off, be nice, don't mention it, and most of all don't take anything we say that is offensive to heart.

Well, some don't get all that mean. For those who do, they are in pain and their hormones are changing.

13 1Periods aren't actually that bad. The cramps vary from person to person. Mine, since I went on the pill, aren't nearly as bad as they were before.
But, technically, guys have a "PMS" as well Believe it or not men go through a only cycle of fertility as well. They just don't bleed at the end of it. But they do have a peak in fertility during each month.
Some women act "pissy" because of all the hormones bumping around and f***ing sh*t up. Some women react worse than others, some react in different ways. I never get pissy during my period, I get very depressed. I have a friend who becomes really horny.
But, to answer your question, some girls get pissy because of the hormones that are being produced and how they react with other chemicals and what they do to the brain. The sudden rises and falls in hormones send some girls into crazy mode because of their effect on the brain.1 0 1 1I don't really act any differently than I do on any other day, and I get pretty bad, painful cramps just like a lot of other girls do. Of course there are hormone fluctuations, which can make one more emotional, but I also think a lot of girls take advantage of this and use their period as an excuse to be an asshole, haha.
1 0 1 0girl, you're just one of the lucky ones lol. Its actually a thing to experience more pain and emotions than others, def not an excuse I promise (:
it's a natural surge in hormones, I don't even know it's happening til afterward. for a week I bump into doors and drop dishes, can't read a map - like having a personality change every f***ing month.
it's no fun, I virtually break up with my partner every month because he annoys me so much - usually for no reason.1 1 0 1i get aggravated easier and its like my emotions are inhanced that's the only signs for me I don't bloat or get headaches or cramps I feel fine
0 0 0 0I don't get mean. It doesn't hurt badly for me either. So I guess I'm lucky, haha.
But when girls do, it's because of hormones.1 0 0 0
