Why are most men ok with two women being sexual but not two men?

  • Two reasons: first, they've spent their lives being bombarded with the message that women are absolutely gorgeously beautiful, and that men are hideous and disgusting, and second, the differing expectations placed on men and women.

    You're probably not going to like hearing this, but: society demands A LOT more from men than it does women. Don't believe me? Look at Ukraine. Men are not only forced into a war they have nothing to do with, but aren't allowed to leave the country at all, just in case the government decides it needs them to die, too. But women? They're free to leave whenever they want. If you have a Y chromosome, your life is only your own so long as no one in office decides it should be public property.

    Most of the demands place don us aren't nearly as severe, and a man, it's basically expected that you'll refuse some; that SOME aspects, you're going to tell society to go to Hell. And to an extent, you'll even be rewarded for this; guys who break the rules are seen as "cool". Women who do? Well, there's a surprising number of people who respect women for that, but respect isn't approval, or fondness, or status, and most people- to say nothing of society as a whole- will come down on her like the fury of Satan. Women are most definitely NOT given the leeway men are, and they're also not given the trust.

    Consequently, they're not taken as seriously. In ANYTHING. Not as leaders, not as builders or dreamers, and not as predators. Victims? Well, that's the exception, because victims aren't actors; they're the acted upon. So two women fooling around together? No harm in that. (Yes, this means that if you're a woman who gets raped by another woman, most people won't care.) Especially since women are (often subconsciously) still seen as being the ones who wait around for men to find them; two women together are just killing time before their future husbands choose them. But two men? Two men going so far as to reject the role society requires of them? THAT is intolerable. THAT must be punished, and prevented from happening again. See, the leeway we get only goes so far; it doesn't surpass our perceived disposability. Notice how tolerance of homosexuality (among those who didn't get there on intellectual grounds) only starts when people come to accept that it's ingrained; it's something you ARE, not something you DO.

  • I think part of it is due to acceptance of sapphic women. Another part of it is due to fetishization, especially in the sexual sense of the relationship (this never makes me feel good). But for gay & bi men, people have a harder time accepting it. Why? I have no clue. It's literally the same thing.

  • I know that many heterosexual men have a fantasy that involves two women having sex. I guess they see no problem because it pleases them. Whereas seeing two men having sex might is considered "gay" by the same men. They find it offensive.

  • It's because guys feel that male homosexuality is an attack against their personal sexuality. Guys have a fear that other guys will label them into the "gay" category and exclude them from guy things.

    • It's not dumb. Men are dumb because I'm straight and like men but don't feel attracted to seeing two men OR two women together. So why do men feel attracted to two women and feel women should not mind that and don't in general feel its acceptable that a woman would- by their definition - therefore enjoy seeing two men together "cos we like men". They still think that's wrong. It's a double standard that I find annoying and don't get. I'm straight and I have no issue with hay people of any gender living their lives however they wish. But I'm not sexually turned on by two men together just cos I like men. I may be turned on by two men being with me and giving me attention so yes I can see a man enjoying two or more women doing stuff to them. But not to eachother. I guess men's brains are just wired differently. Not dumb to ponder that difference.

Think whatever ya want but the answer is simple a straight guy likes women, and if there is another woman that ain't gonna make him unattracted somehow well unless he's homophobic and finds it gross I suppose. But then that goes back to what I just said to you.
