Not exactly, I feel that it's in large part a matter of personal preference. But furthermore, there's only so confident you can be without venturing into the realm of bravery and then into recklessness. I'm saying people can be insecure to some extent, what's wrong with that? Relative to the reckless person of course he's going to seem insecure.
But think about it, the only reason a girl would need to be able to label him as insecure is so that she can dismiss him as undesirable. So isn't she being insecure that a perfectly normal guy might simply not be into her?
It all depends on preferences. Some care, some don't, some have a set number that she should not go over

Not wanting to date a promiscuous woman has nothing to do with insecurity. A promiscuous woman has a higher chance of having an STD, which no one wants, and a lower chance of remaining loyal. Most guys don't like those traits.
Dating and screwing are two different things. If your dating a girl it's for the purpose of starting a relationship and possibly one day getting married so it's of great importance to be selective of who you date.
