Ladies, what type of birth control do you use?

Share your experience with different forms in the comments. Personally, I have used the pill and the ring, which I hated, and now I have the copper IUD, which I absolutely love.

  • I use this thing called being a lesbian. Perfect birth control, 10/10

    • Yep no risks there

  • I have chosen to use the counting calendar or FAM method. I have very predictable and regular periods every month, the 10 days after my period is no sex or sex with condoms and then the next 20 days or so until my period is just sex is ok with pull out or not. Then back to my period... for 5 days or so. We have been doing this for a little while now... and my daughter is almost 3 so we must be doing some thing right. I really dislike anything inside my body and hormones. I tried the copper IUD but I had a fever and terrible back pain about a month later and I had to get rid of it. Plus I had spotting...

    • Yea im considering the calendar for when we hit 30+ and dont want to have anymore kids

  • I said other. I have my third Nexplanon implant in my non-dominant arm. They are put in, and after 3 years changed, under local anaesthetic. The next one in two years time, I think, will be in the other arm.

One rare effect has been to stop me having periods altogether. I do not know what percentage of women have this side effect.

It does mean I can fit and forget. Nopills, no jabs, no pulling out and risking being too late. No morning after pill and, thankfully, NO CONDOMS. We ARE both clean!
