The "ideal" male physique or the "ideal" female physique...which do you think is more difficult to obtain?

"ideal" = what the mass media overall would consider a "sexy body" (not limited to just one type of physique) --------------- Now the question is... through the foods, the beverages, the workouts, the hygeine-factor such as skin care, and most of all THE DISCIPLINE with all said above (especially the foods and beverages) to obtain the mass media's standards of a "sexy body"... ... ... ...which gender has it more difficult to obtain that mass-media standard of "sexy" when it comes to physique? --------- Please vote and reply, elaborating as much as you like. Thanks for answering! 8-)

  • i think its about the same

  • Females. Males have the genetics to easily lose weight. Woman naturally hold onto it because we're supposed to for fertility.

  • I think the discrepancy here, is that both sexes are comparing their own "ideal" to individuals who are closer to 10's and the opposite gender's "ideal" to average looking attractiveness.

For the average person, being moderately attractive mainly means "not overweight" ... but the higher level of ideal attractiveness requires a lot of hard work and often augmentation.

    • Agreed. Except for Augmentation, of course. In my case, a "10" would probably require a reduction for most women.

  • it depends on what the ideal is. if you're talking about as little body fat as possible and lots of muscle, then obviously men have an easier time accomplishing that.

  • Men by far IMO.

The ideal physique for men is to to be ripped. Somewhere around this guy.

And muscle mass takes A LOT of effort to get and to maintain, then burning fat. You need to eat really healthy especially, to get enough low body fat to have abs showing. So not only do men need to have lower body fat than women, but they have to maintain their muscle mass from working out as well.

For women, you just have to do some cardio to look good, if you aren't naturally within your bmi/height+weight proportional already. Curvy women are also naturally hot.

    • SMH.. Seriously Anyone that seriously votes ideal physique of females over males, doesn't know jack about working out or nutrition when it comes to muscle mass and fat. Lean muscle in general takes WAY MORE effort to get, AND MAINTAIN, then burning fat and toning. Like I said, for the male physique, men have to have less body fat AND have a lot of muscle mass--to reach that ideal "ripped" physique.

    • Some people are more predisposed to reaching the ideal physique much faster than others, via genetics from having certain somotypes. For example, if you're mesomorphic, you're predisposed to having a lower body fat % and gaining muscle mass easier than ectomorph(predisposed to not gaining muscle or fat easily) or endomorphs(predisposed to gaining fat easily). Women in general, naturally have a sexy body, if they are height/weight proportional. Curves area plus. Guys naturally aren't.

  • Generally, the male physique would take a longer time to achieve. Anyone who has ever taken a health course knows its substantially harder to gain lean muscle mass and hold a low body fat percentage, than it is to lose a few pounds and tone up a little.

  • This was an easy question, Women easily I don't have to get into details . This is just common sense.

    • Yea like women have to workout right? Lol

    • We do have to work out..-.- Well MOST of us do to stay firm

    • working out isn't hard. What's hard is to achieve large perky D cups with a tiny waist, flat stomach, round firm ass and long thin legs. Unless you're born that way, its physically impossible to make your body like that without surgery. Getting muscle is REALLY hard, but its possible for most guys without any surgery at all. take me for example- when described by others I have a moderate waist, farily flat stomach, long legs and large ass but I have B cups so id need surgery to be "perfect"

    • Show All
  • Male because you have to be pretty sculpted. Women just have to not be too fat and although it is not ideal, they have the option to pay for the "perfect" body without any additional effort.

  • Female body.

    • What makes you say that?
