My boyfriend and I have been dating a little over a year. we've done everything else but he keeps "joking" saying he was to put his finger in my ass, or "slip it in my ass" sometimes. He always says he's just kidding and that it would be gross.Is he really kidding or does he want to have anal with me...?

He has some level of interest or curiosity in it. It may be that he wants to worship your ass -- kiss, lick, finger, penetrate -- or it may just be that he has seen it in p*rn/heard his friends joke about it, etc. or is feeling an urge to explore, but is uncomfortable admitting it, even to himself. But there's definitely a level of interest there.

And as long as you're hygienic about it, and use common sense (go slow, keep your fingernails trimmed, use lubrication) you both can get a lot of pleasure from ass play.

When someone keeps "joking" about something, it is something that is seriously on their mind.  Many things one can joke about a bit, but if it keeps coming up, either it is on that person's mind, or you react so strongly that they do it just to "punch your buttons".

He's testing you to see if you would let him do anal. He's being pretty immature about in though, in my opinion. If he's truly joking, you should accept and watch him deny it. Though, it's more likely that he would go for it ;)
