The idea of showering together had already been discussed previously, the problem was (since we still lived at home) getting the alone time to do it, particularly since you can't just throw on clothes and pretend like nothing happened if the parents come home. Eventually, the parents left and we knew they'd be gone for at least a full hour, so I basically just said "Let's go take a shower." We'd already been naked around each other a lot, so most of the nervousness came from being caught.
