A Man Going Shirtless is Considered Half Naked (at least, to my friends)?

I was out with some of my (girl) friends & they were so appalled at the "half naked (shirtless) man" running at the park. They made such a big deal out of it. I thought the whole thing was funny. I probably wouldn't have even noticed him if they didn't make such a big deal about it.

  • I'm male and I freaking HATE men going topless in public places that aren't the beach or pool. It's such epic douchebaggery. I used to be a security officer and would ban dudes from entering the building without a shirt in the summer, even though no one knew if that was an actual rule or not. If you're going to have your nasty hair, sweat, and B. O all over the place, then you don't deserve the same courtesy as everyone else. It annoys me almost as much as the douchebags who don't wash their hands after using the restroom (prior to COVID). I bet you money the same filthy, unsanitary, shirtless-in-public douchebags are the same filthy, unsanitary "it's just my cock; why do I need to wash my hands" douchebags. And ALSO the same "if it's yellow, let it mellow, if its brown, flush it down" douchebags. F*ck, it; they're all the same asshole.

  • Cookie a guy running shirtless with just shorts and shoes is probably more than half naked if you consider what proportion of his body is covered. But whatever, it shouldn't be seen as scandalous. In the summer I jog shirtless in the park and I'm not doing that for attention or to be exhibitionist. It's just more comfortable. Wherever you are must still be warm this time of year.

  • Since naked means without any covering at all, what is half naked really? If a guy is wearing shoes and socks, gloves, a hat, maybe a belt and leggings, is that half naked?
    Anyway, to me half naked would mean showing about half of one's sexual being openly. Since you would probably not have noticed him except for your friends' comments, you must not find him to be half naked. So i find it interesting that you found the opinion that was really ranting about something so trivial as a male jogger outside not wearing a shirt to be most helpful.

  • Weird friends. Appalled? What drama queens. Men run shirtless all the time in summer. Some even in winter here in Scandinavia. Maybe his sports shirt was in the laundry, or running shirtless being more comfortable (it really is) it's just his preference.

It's about the sexual nature of the clothing or lack thereof which amounts to the very same thing for a man to run shirtless or a woman to be running in tops that very transparently flatters her shapely forms. Of course women cannot run outside topless as breasts are on equal levels of sexuality as genitals. But as I said, I was speaking in terms of principle and not in a literal sense.
