According to the Catholic Church would I still be considered a pure woman even though I've masturbated before?

I have never done anything sexual with a person, but I've been sexually active by myself. (Not anymore) would I still be considered "pure" and a virgin or would I be considered a woman who has had sex before?

  • Not to put down the Catholic church or any denomination I don't know much about the Bible I've never read it I believe in God I believe in this planet I believe in the people I believe in a lot of things I do know one thing that I'm sure in the Bible it might say something about it I would say very little or you're given a choice and this is my answer is that when we were born we were all giving a gift and that gift is choice we get to choose who we want to be by the things that we say and we do I'm not going to tell you that I'm right I'm not going to tell you that I'm wrong I'm going to tell you I have the same choices you do and I use those choices so I do masturbate There's Something Beautiful about it you can learn things from it and I don't mean physically I mean spiritually I believe that sex was meant not only to have children but it was supposed to take us to a different level of feeling we all have an energy within us a it guides us it teaches us and it warms us and who we truly are.
I think we're supposed to learn about energy a long time ago and somewhere somebody said that sex is evil sex is bad blah blah blah

I really believed it through sex through masturbation we were supposed to learn about energy we are made from energy this whole planet is energy and what you understand it everything changes you haven't had sex yet.. when making love there is a moment right before you're both going to have an orgasm both going to come there is clarity you can look into your partner's eyes and you can see you can hear you can feel their every word without them saying one word you know their every thought that is the energy in that moment is when two energies become one it is the most beautiful feeling that you will ever feel in your life. It is pure energy we are made of water and atoms atoms broke down equals Energy if our body is our Temple it houses something very special that it needs to protect that is our sole our spirit our mind our heart and our Journal of everything we have said and done on this planet since we were bored when we die our Temple our body falls to the ground we are the light are energy gathers All the Above and it goes into a little orb of energy and it takes us to wherever we're going something has happened to me before life to where I saw myself in front of me I was a little ball of light at the energy and I left my body I looked eye-to-eye contact with myself I called two doctors and a nurse what it happened to me and then I told them every move that they did to bring me back every word that they said as I watch them do what they did to bring me back they were blown away but anyway I believe this is what happens I believe that we are supposed to learn about energy through sex 2 masturbation we only use 10% or 7% of our brain I think there's much more involved we are all special people and I believe to masturbation or sex we were supposed to learn something okay so now after saying all the above I know it sounds crazy it might be who knows I don't see it that way I have done research after research after research try to understand things when you masturbate there is an emotion that comes over you right there is a feeling of beautifulness that you feel you can take it 10 times deeper than that can think about certain things and ask yourself if they've come through or not I'm not going to tell you it's right or if it's wrong I'm going to tell you for me because it's my choice I want to be and I want to experience the most beautiful things in life I want to understand them and if this is one way to get to do this then I'm going to do it choice is a gift I'm going to use it if I'm wrong I'm wrong if I'm right thank you God for letting me experience all this and I pray that you allow me to keep going because I want to understand it even deeper and I apologize for all the misspelled words all the average words because I'm using voice texting but if you were meant to understand this you

    • I really apologize there's a whole another page missing it would only allow me to send so much and it was one of the most important parts

    • I really appreciate your whole paragraph! But I have to disagree, just because it feels good doesn't mean it's right. And it's ok if there's a page missing!

    • Yeah sometimes I'm just one big long word lol. I really wish that I would have been paying attention so that second page would have went in. it's not so much about masturbation it's about learning something from. It's more than just masturbating or feeling good I'm pretty sure there's so many other things involved but I do appreciate your message. I wish that I would have been able to actually say what I was trying to say

  • There is no such category in Catholicism. There are no "pure" men or women as sexual sins are not the only sins.

Masturbation, for both males and females, is considered a grave sin in the Catholic church as it is viewed as a misuse of the sexual gift. That gift, in church teaching, being to express marital love and, of course, to procreate. Sex for any other purpose is an abuse of God's gift and therefore sinful.

That said, going to Confession will solve the matter. The granting of absolution erasing the sin, albeit not the predisposition to sin.

So the answer to your question is a bit complicated. You were not pure before you masturbated, but God loves you even as a sinner, and hence why he offers forgiveness. The act of masturbation is an abuse of the sexual gift and therefore is a grave sin. This then requiring the sacrament of Confession to restore your right relationship to God.

From the moment of absolution your absolved of the guilt of sin, but the predisposition to sin shall always remain. Hence why you are loved by a God, but were never "pure" as that is understood theologically.

    • Okay thank you. I really want to go to confession but I don't have access to any catholic churches or priests. Every so called "Catholic Church" follows the false "pope" Francis. Therefor they're not real Catholics so I cannot go and confess my sins to them.

    • Well, I am no fan of this Pope, but it is not for you to decide if the Pope is the right one. According to Catholic dogma, the Pope is selected by the Holy Spirit acting through the Sacred College of Cardinals. We cannot necessarily know the reasons for the choice - and yes, it IS a political process, the notion that God cannot act through politics seems an odd limitation on God's power. You cannot know the reason, and you are free to dissent - unless dealing in questions of dogma - from the Pope's views. However, to deprive yourself of the sacraments and God's grace because you have disagreements with the man in Vatican City is a VERY grave sin. You may wish to reexamine your views on this matter. Indeed, think of it. You may not fully agree with the priest who gives you absolution in the sacrament of Confession. Not the point! The point is the priest is the vicar - the vehicle if you will - through which God grants you His grace. Indeed, the lesson in that is that we must love one another as He has loved us. You never know the method and the means by which the fullness of your faith is realized. Think of it this way. Judas betrayed Christ and in so doing facilitated God's purpose on Earth. Again, I am glad I could help. I hope you will reconsider your views. Oh, and just to add, a Church that does not operate under the auspices of Vatican City and thus the Pope is not, strictly speaking, Catholic. Therefore a confession made in such a church would not be sacramentally valid.

    • P. S. One last note. According to Catholic teaching, if you are aware of a grave sin - again, masturbation included - you are ineligible to take Communion. To take Communion while aware of such sin and not having gone to Confession is also a grave sin. At this point - and I provide this all only FYI, not to admonish you - you are not to take Communion until you have made a valid Confession, but you are still obliged to attend weekly mass and well as on Holy Days of Obligation.

  • You've never had sex with anyone else so you are absolutely a virgin.

Pure? You know, that's not up to me to decide. Something about casting the first stone comes into play here. We are all sinners.

I'm going to be super cautious because of your age, but it is completely normal and healthy for you to explore your own needs, including in that way. Sex can and should be enjoyable even when done safely.

    • Even though it's natural doesn't mean it's right, but I appreciate your help!

    • Doesn't mean it is wrong either. You are very welcome though and good luck on your spiritual journey

    • It is according to God, but thank you so much! I wish you good luck with your spiritual journey as well!

  • As a woman it's fine because you're not wasting sperm which could have been used to impregnate a woman. I learnt this from when I attended a crazy Catholic group for a short while.

    • No, it's not ok to masturbate even if you're a woman

  • It would be a sin. As it would require a lustful thought. Which is a sin, at least if it is not for someone you are married to. So, it would be a step above simply having lustful thoughts and doing nothing. But well below sex outside the sanctity of marriage.

You'd still be a virgin and pure though.

Go to your father confessor. Confess your sin. Do your penance and be absolved.

    • Okay thank you, what penance should I do do you think?

    • I already said at the end. If you are Catholic you confess and do the penance you’re given. That’s really the only option.

  • I am no specialist on Catholicism but I always thought that masturbation was only forbidden for boys as they were not supposed to spill their seed. You had no sex with someone else, seems to me that you still should be pure.

The latest thing I saw on the Catholic Church was that Pope Benedict hid the abuse of children of four different cases. I think you’re way more pure then them.

    • I agree with you

    • Well it goes for both boys and girls, we should not abuse sexual gift from God.

    • Then I’m too far away from your values and indoctrination to be able to help you out here. From a pure human point of view I feel sorry for you and your worries.

  • Catholic church is far from pure

    • Today there isn't really a catholic church, the so called "pope" is not a real pope. He's a satanist trying to destroy the church. (which he already has)

    • No no, you misunderstand. I'm saying more the catholic church has NEVER been pure

    • No human is pure

  • "Not anymore"... riiiiiight... what does the Catholic Church say about honesty? Oh yeah... confession.

    • Ok thank you

  • Who GAF?

    • I do? Why else would I ask this question?

  • Yes. Virginity ends with PIV and PIA intercourse only.

    • Ok thank you!

  • You’re still pure. The church is not against masturbation.

    • It is

    • No it’s not! You musta had some 80 yr old nun. My priest told me masturbation was cool. And no he didn’t offer to do it with me.

  • Still a virgin, not pure unless you stop it completely

    • Ok thank you!

  • Who cares what story peddler thinks about your life?

    • Don't be so disrespectful.

    • What's disrespectful of pointing out the fantasy called religion? We will look back in 100 years and treat God like we do the old Roman or Greek gods... Stories to learn morals and nothing more.

  • Confess thy sins now to Father you little sinner.
You may burn in the fires of hell for that!

    • I know, I hate myself for what I've done. But you still haven't answered my question, am I considered "not pure" and not a virgin according to the Catholic Church?

    • Bruh... not cool.

  • Yes, you're still a virgin. I'm not Catholic, but aren't' impure simply because you're human, according to them? And now that you've had those "dirty thoughts", you're definitely impure !!!

    • Ok thank you

  • 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • Why are you laughing?

    • Ask your church ⛪️ not the internet

  • The hell with the Catholic institution. That B. S. isn't of God, but rather the devil. And yes, you are still sexually pure if you haven't had sex with someone else.

    • Ok thank you!

  • The Catholic Church doesn't say anything about purity. On the contrary, by Catholic doctrine, we've all committed sexual sin. As for masturbation, yes, it's also a sin, since it contradicts the natural law by how mating is supposed to work. However, no, it doesn't make you "impure" or a bad person any more than sin generally does. As for whether or not you're a virgin, yes, you still are.

    • Okay thank you!

    • No problem!

  • nope

    • Ok thanks

  • You are virgin and pure, just don't do it again.

    • Ok thanks

  • I am not Catholic but a few Hail Mary might help with that...

    • Maybe.

  • Nope

    • OH:(

  • yes.

    • okay thank you!

    • no problem. anything sexual you do with another and you're not.
