I have had period intercourse, and didn't particularly like the blood involved, so we ceased having sex during her period. However, if she was having bad cramps, and intercourse relieved the pain, I would do it. It wasn't like period sex was awful or something, just messy.

Because it’s not something that everyone enjoys doing. Sure periods are normal, but sex during a period is not required. Some people don’t like having blood on them. Others just don’t want to deal with the bloody mess. I never said intercourse during a period was abnormal.
