  • I think naturally women are very selective with their partners and that's for a good reason. In nature, if you didn't choose a strong and protective mate then you and your kids would die. At the same time, I think there are plenty of guys who would do just fine finding a woman if they didn't have a bitter attitude towards all women due to this thought process, with the right mindset you can easily be as attractive to a woman as a man who is more stereotypically "superior".

    • I think hypergammy is honestly offensive. It will take time for me to think otherwise.

    • @Robertcw Why’s it offensive?

  • Maybe they have a natural tendency towards hypergamy, but the biggest thing motivating their hypergamy is the fact that men constantly overwhelm even a below average woman with praise about how she’s dropdead gorgeous and a solid 10/10 when she’s clearly not. This leads to those women overestimating their market value and believing they deserve the most attractive, most self-sufficient, and most capable men, as I’ve explained many times before.

  • I def would say yes, not all but a solid.

I personally have noticed that men with a higher status than me are more comfortable than vice versa.

I've had to dumb myself down, not talk about my degrees and even hide my main job and act as if I am only a waitress to avoid the awkward

"... well Im trying to still figure out what to do but (insert long list of pending career goals to not feel inadequate on this date here)"

Three guys would keep sending me updates about career stuff, or apologizing for being so "lame" as one guy put it, though I never degraded them or anything for it.

Not surprisingly, the engineer, business owner and head paramedic made no issue about their 30.00+ an hour jobs and the engineer encouraged me to choose expensive items off the menu at dinner so he could slam that 145.00 ticket like it was nothing.

Made me super uncomfortable so I at least bought desert and left an unnecessarily large tip. Had to squeeze some type of independance in there 😂

He is very high class, like his car is my annual income 😂😂

I really think men get a rush out of being 'high status,' and flaunting it around, which makes sense as I believe women are more hypergamous.

Guys who were higher stats than I were overall more confident and grounded compared to the men in which I paid for the date.

Those guys kept apologizing and promising to "make it up to me," became distant and such after?

    Lol...😊

    • Can attest to this. I have a bad habit of talking about myself (education wise) on dates ahaha because it does give me a rush. I promise I'm toning it down!

    • @10dsw LOL yeah too much can be overkill but knowing what makes a man tick actually helps me think of ways to keep him interested!

  • I've seen a lot of badly organized, messy charts but that one takes the cake. The emojis don't seem to match the numbers.

The question you asked is similar to the question "do men have a preference for Victoria's secret models" or "do women have a preference for Calvin Klein models." Of course they would prefer to have a high status rich man. But will they keep dumping men to get that richer man with higher status. Some. But for the most part no. People always or often want to date people who are above them in some way but most people are not so fixated on this that they end relationships.

  • I guess it depends more on the individual. Its normal to want better things. More money, better life etc. In nature id say its true

    • Interesting. Thank you

    • Why did I watch this till the end

  • Everyone wants what they perceive as 'the best.'

  • Yes, but it’s something they can resist.

  • I agree.
Women rarely have casual sex with men who are less attractive than themselves and rarely marry men who earn less than they do. Men are far more likely to hookup with less attractive women and marry women who earn less.

  • I am shocked there are no comments about this. Doesn't anyone else find hypergammy offensive?

  • Women can't be loyal.

It depends on the male, how early he can catch her cheating because she will do every trick in her book like deceiving, manipulating, taking tears, hurting herself or you or even commit suicide to make you believe that she is loyal.

  • Of course they are.

  • Doesn't the chart look similar to men attracted to better looking women?

    • Interesting point. Not 100% sure.

  • Not all women but some majority are

  • Yes, women are naturally hypergamous

  • I think some are. It is instinctual to seek the mate who is mist capable of providing for children. Just like men instinctively seek women who are best able to bear them. I. e. those who are healthy

  • no more so than men

  • Yeah

  • Most women are naturally hypergamous.

  • Women are culturally conditioned to be hypergamous. There is no reason this can't change.
