At what age should girls be allowed to dress in less conservative styles?

Ok, here is why I am asking.

My little sister, Missy, is way younger than me, and even my middle sister, Crystal.

At like 10-11 years old, (she is 17 now), she started wanting to dress more like her older sisters.

So what do parents do when their elementary/middle school child is wanting to do things like wearing nylons and mini-skirts, low cut tops, high heels, etc, etc, etc, to look more like her older sisters or other girls in higher grades?

And so far we have only discussed outerwear, but what about underwear? ... should the same rules apply for underwear as it is for outerwear in terms of what styles, at what age, like thongs, boy shorts, padded bras, etc, etc?

It seems since underwear can not be seen so than why does that matter so much? ... like what hill do you want to die on as a parent?

What line did your parents draw for you not to cross on this matter?

How old were you when you started dressing more like an older teen with outerwear and was it a different age for underwear?

Guys, what do you think about the age girls should be able to dress less conservatively should be?

Don't be shy... share your views on this sensitive, personal, subject... PLEASE!

A. I think 10 is old enough to start dressing in outerwear more like older teengers dress, there is nothing wrong with it

B. NO WAY! 10 is still a little child yet, they need to be an older teenager in order to dress in outerwear like an older teenager does

C. 10 is not too young for thong/boyshort type panties and padded bras. It's just underwear, no one is going to be seeing it

D. NO WAY! Thong/boyshort style panties and padded bras are never to be worn by young girls, only older teenagers or young adults

E. I disagree with any girl living at home wearing any underwear or outwear that isn't totally conservative, period, end of story!

F. I am a libertarian about it, as long as they are not dressed totally like a hooker, some more liberal teen type styles are fine with me at any age

  • Yeah 10 is far too young.. Not in my house..

  • Yes I can only tell kids nowadays are rushing to get old but they should be guided what I do to my little sister is that I just tell them to dress like me when she is 18 like me she can all got those clothes or even more, luckily my sister is kind enough to listen us follows direction lol

  • Wear whatever you fancy, nothing wrong also you live in 21st century so to be liberated.

  • Twelve, usually.

  • I think her big sisters needed to do a better job of setting an example, perhaps? Of course the younger wants to emulate the older, and even if it's just to "look" the same, she's a child and has no understanding of the implications. This begs many other questions too, such as... is 14 or 15 a good age to start dressing the girls in photos A or B either?

    • i just gave a 1,00,000,000 plus sign things or whatever! and i wish we lived in a world where we all saw a beautiful child in photo A and look at those 3 beautiful sisters all at different stages in their lives - they're all gorgeous!

    • @kymberz what do you mean?

  • 10 is much too young to be wearing anything provocative. Late teens at the absolute least (I'm talking at least 16, and I mean AT LEAST. She better be mentally mature enough to handle whatever may come from dressing as such!), and only if it's okay in those social situations.

  • I would say, it's up to the parents, but if that is a cop out. I would say, the girl should have some say in how she dresses. Maybe discuss with parents why she wants to dress that way. Once she is old enough to do that.

  • I work as janitor at a school and it starts so early. At school parties, girls as young as 9 dress “sexily”. You can sometimes see up their skirt and stuff

    • That's disgusting!

    • @Dchrls78104 I’m just saying

    • Feel free to ask anything about it @laurieluvsit

  • No one under 18 should be wearing any provocative clothing; and women should dress modestly at all times.

  • I love girls who love sex. And I don't care how young they are, it's their choice. True I don't want my daughter to be raped by a strange, but if she really wants to experience fucking, I will show her how to have sex with a man. And I don't mind if she's playing with her girlfriend's sexually, it's what she wants to do, and she will be doing it whether I approve or not.
At very least, she will learn how to make love with a person who does not want to hurt her.

  • At least 16..

  • 15 and 16 is a good age where they can dress a bit more sexy.

  • I really wouldn't care as a parent. Dress in whatever is legal and what your school allows.

What's actually important is how they ACT.

  • They should only be allowed to dress that way once they reach the age of consent in their country/state/province.

    Simples...

  • We have three daughters they started dressing more riscae around 12
My wife and I never thought they needed to wear a certain type of underclothes
My oldest started wearing thongs and boy shorts at around 10 and her sisters s em to follow that pattern

  • My sister started dressing less conservative at 16 but didn't dress in anything too crazy until she turned 18 (shes 19 now).

  • No way ,10 is way too young...
That ain't happening till at least 15 if they're mature enough

  • 10 is too young.

  • As a stepdad, I have a real problem with any girl under 18 (or legal age) dressing like a woman 18 or older (or legal age)!

    • If all the above pix are girls under 18 (or legal), then I want to 🤢🤮😵🤯

    • I find the sexualization of children abhorrent and fraught with danger!

    • they loved having those pics taken and their legal - no worries! i got ya covered! *pixie dust*

  • I'd say early twenties. The climate of current society just doesn't allow for these things. Ideally every people should wear their traditional folk clothes and abandon Anglo/American dress entirely.
