Because men who didn't like boobs, mated with flat chested women, and their offspring starved, so liking boobs gets passed on, and not liking them doesn't.

They are also something soft to hold onto during sex. And men probably used act as breast pumps to get milk flowing when its not, which also helped in feeding babies, again aiding in passing on genes.
They are also an erogenous zone for women, getting them in the mood to mate, which, you guessed it, lets you pass on genes.
Fast foward to today, and liking boobs has long been a dominant trait, so its rare for a guy to not like them to the point of at least some arousal on site.
So basically the majority of us like them because our way of reproducing selects males who like them and weeds out males who don't by ending their genetic lines. This gets compounded and reinforced as well, as the males left select bigger boobed women, thining out the number of small boobed/flat chested women that pass on their genes, causing the average boobs size in human women to drastically increase over time, which is why humans have huge knockers, but other apes don't, because they walk on all fours and hold onto the ass, not the chest, when mating. So instead of big boobs, the other apes have giant butts that swell up when in heat.
