Can having an OnlyFans account disrupt future job opportunities?

Asking out of curiosity. There are so many young girls turning to OnlyFans for a quick buck. Despite the fact that they potentially make lots of money, can they get real jobs later on?

  • That's a very legitimate question and one that is going to haunt many women for years to cum. The fact is that SOMEONE who sees a girl's OnlyFans is going to know who she is, and they're going to tell other people who know her, and eventually, her parents, her church, her ex boyfriends, and her employers or potential employers are likely to find out.

Many companies to a comprehensive Internet search of social media and "problematic" sites like OnlyFans as part of the hiring process (this is often farmed out to companies who do this as a service), so even if you use an alias, there's a fairly good chance that someone will be able to tie your name and your OnlyFans (or other similar account) together.

Clearly if you are being hired to work in an art gallery, or as a waitress, or a retail job, they probably won't care, but if you want to be a teacher, a cop, a lawyer, or most kinds of management - and especially a politician - then having a porn or porn-like past isn't going to go over well. Lots of former porn stars have had trouble either getting a straight job or have been fired once her past was discovered, because it was a constant distraction that the company didn't want to deal with.

Like anything else, there are costs and benefits, and those must be carefully weighed and should be thoroughly understood before any decision is made, because the consequences are very real and most people aren't going to be exempt from them.

  • For AS LONG AS some of these late teen-mid thirties females are turning 5-6 figure income, without breaking physical sweat, WHO CARES!

When I managed a 'gentlemen's club' in Vermont (Studio 'C' II) I early 70's, knew of a mid-20's couple who danced and earned ENOUGH to own TWO exotic sportscars and condo's in Boston and Ft. Lauderdale! His earnings barred him from auditioning for the Olympics because they viewed him as a 'professional' gymnast.

Any who MIGHT discriminate against her employment, would have to FIRST admit they knew WHERE to look? What were THEY doing on those sites? Research?

  • I would think so yes. I don't know why women do this these days. This generation thinks they are empowering women but is it really? Women have always been sexual creatures and we keeep it private. Most men can’t even stand the idea that their partners have slept with someone else. They know it in theory but they don’t want to picture it. Now imagine if you have a baby boy one day and he sees these disturbing pics of his mother. It’s so f*****. I don’t understand girls these days. Your worth so much more than 10.99/month. 🤦🏻‍♀️

  • Almost any of the social media outlets available today or in the future can lead to destroying one's future job or life.

  • I read an article about a mom who’s kids were kicked out of private school. I think it’s wrong. Discrimination for sure. Maybe one day it will be a protected class.

  • Yep, having any social media profile that you can find can mess your career.

  • Depends on the company they apply with.

  • If your face is in it, yes, absolutely. It can destroy your ability to get a career outside of... sex.

  • I think yeah , cause if your job is something like classy and good they 'll look up for your accounts and history

  • Only in the weird American society. You might run into problem here. But Norway and probably 90% of Europe, you are probably fine.

    • Yeah only America’s weird for not wanting to hire women who sexually expose themself on the internet. It’s so weird. Really makes a company professional to have women like that working there.

    • @Iakai Yes, that is weird. Especially since the guy who is doing the hiring will probably visits strip clubs several times a year. That's just weird, insane and fruitcakey.

  • I had an account while I had a regular job. Nobody knew about it and nobody has to know about it.

  • I would still hire you, on my interviews... Have you ever had an OnlyFans account before? is not included.

  • It's a good question but I'd consider asking a business professional about this one. I'd even go as far to find a business forum
    Grasshopper seems interesting 🤔

Can having an OnlyFans account disrupt future job opportunities?

  • Yes of course it can, it's like doing porn. It might be more accepted but there are still a lot of companies that won't hire you.

  • It's more than likely gonna be very hard for them to get real jobs later on. Especially if it's an important job.

  • Not a problem unless they ae dumb enough to use their real names and details.

    • Not true. View my reply to the original question. The woman I referenced knew how to cover her tracks, having law enforcement experience, but she was found out anyways. Any company that gives a professional license knows how to find "deep web" type stuff.

  • LOL, I hope so.

Unless being a stripper is her career goal.
I hope most legit jobs will snub them.

  • Yes. If it is on the internet, it is fair game for an employer to find. Most professional fields have standards about personal conduct. Anything in the military, first responders, medical/nursing, education and other fields where trust of character is key to a company's image can look negatively on an onlyfans. I'm a correction's officer and our captain declined to hire a woman even though she had a perfect background, a bachelor's degree and prior military. When she left the Coast Guard, she worked in the sex industry to earn a quick buck. Coast Guard veterans should know how law enforcement views things much more than any other branch of service, being that they enforce laws. What got her disqualified was a thing called session wrestling, where guys apparently pay to have women play to their fetishes. This ONE ad cost her any chance of getting into law enforcement and any other field requiring a professional license.

  • There are so many only fans models out there now that the likelihood of a future employer or anyone else recognizing you is pretty slim

  • Yes. Digital background searches are becoming more snd more common and a lot of industries would consider it an issue and many more would consider it disqualifying for any client facing role. I think it's unfortunate but there's still a perceived stigma that employers don't want association with. I'm half hoping that we reach a point where like 60% of people's nudes have been leaked and then we can stop acting shocked about it.

mind you, without the stigma it wouldn't pay nearly as much. Many people who would otherwise do porn don't because of the stigma which pushes up the pay slightly.

  • It definitely could cause problems later

  • What goes on the internet stays forever.
And yes, companies do check social media accounts.
    Draw your own conclusions.

    • They try, at least. But when you have 0 internet presence with your face or name, they will have a hard time. I mean I was offered a job through LinkedIn, where I do not share much about meself, only SOME qualifications, and just out of curiosity, I went to the interview. Now, they asked for my social media accounts, and when I only gave them a facebook link, they already were bummed. They didn't see shit. Then they demanded I add the HR person as a friend, which I did, and she has seen the same thing: nothing. I filter things well. I then challenged them to find me anywhere... and they managed to find a single article I wrote years ago. They were in disbelief. I told them at the end that I did not want the job anyways, because I am a fucking military pilot, and was juat curious how effective their BG searches are. Turns out it is extremely easy to outsmart them, if you live your life in secrecy to begin with.

  • Yes, imagine your manager and your co workers are subscribed to your OnlyFans, how you will be treated by them, how they are looking at you, what they are thinking about you, it will be toxic if they find it and they will not use their brains when you talk to them, it will ruin your career forever and maybe your social life if you got famous for some reason.

  • I think company's might be more hesitant to hire well known onlyfan users because they're afraid it'll hurt thier reputation as a company.
