Can someone please tell me why some men think this is acceptable behavior and other men justify it by saying it's men's nature?

I'm not men bashing. I'm no feminazi or that bs crap. But I am a woman sick of being objectified by men.
My neighbor's "husband" has hit on me in the past. Bad enough. But this morning when went over there because she was taking me to doctor, she had ran a quick errand. So, because she wasn't home he got even worse, at one point coming out of his chair and almost pinning me to the wall... I have never done anything to warrant this behavior. His excuse, he's a man and horny. I have a sexy body. So that excuses forcing your attentions or hands on someone else regardless of how they feel?

Noone woman or man should have to put up with fearing for their safety at the hands of another. I know there is a lot of men who don't feel that way, don't do that, and won't justify. But that there's any even if it was just one, is one too much.

Being a man, having urge, does not justify forcing yourself on a woman.

Sorry if this comes off more as a rant than a question. Just want to spread awareness. You don't just harm someone physically. My blood pressure was high at the doctor's office probably as a result of this.
And I've been emotionally upset all day. Ironic this happened 20 min. after posting a mytake about true love/ real relationships.
As he's a married man, 40 years married, guess jokes on me for still believing🤷‍♀️

  • That's completely unacceptable. Sure, you're attractive and he's horny - those things happen - but being married, even flirting is really not okay, and certainly no physical stuff of any kind is okay.

    This guy knows damn well that this isn't acceptable behavior, but he doesn't give a crap - he's selfish (and probably self-destructive) and just doesn't care - he only wants what he wants. It sounds like he had enough self-restraint not to actually grope you or anything, so he clearly knows that's not acceptable, but he already went way over the line.

    My advice is to actively avoid him. I know you are friends with your neighbor, but if there's any chance he's going to be around, make sure you aren't.

    He's unlikely to change on his own - he's going to be set in his ways and feeling entitled, and it seems that he knows how to avoid doing anything that might get him thrown in jail, which might be the only wake-up call that he would understand - so just keep your distance, even if that negatively impacts your friendship with your neighbor.

  • No, I can't tell you why some men do that sort of thing. But I guarantee that guy knew it was not acceptable behavior, he just did it anyway. That guy is a complete asshole and I understand why you're upset. I hate that there are still men who behave that way and make the rest of us look bad.

  • 1) Tell his wife, and also file a police report. Although you don't have any evidence worthwhile other than your word, hopefully it'll get the point across.

    2) The majority fo the men who use this site are probably just as bad or worse than him. Just warning you.

    3) Western women don't exactly treat decent men decently either. I'm one of the few truly Godly and decent men alive in the U. S. because just about every other man I've ever met is a godless pervert anyway, and western women treat me like shit all the time, especially the ones on dating apps, but pretty much anybody. Well, I've never had an Asian woman do anything maliciously evil to me, but I haven't had any white girls treat me like a human being in the past oh 20 years, with one or two weird exceptions, and unfortunately one of them was already married and the other was already in a relationship too. When I was 23 years old, my four best friends all suddenly turned on me one day, at church, and falsely accused me and my family of some shit for no reason, and I cut ties with them immediately. A few weeks earlier I had stood in one of their weddings and had originally planned to stand in the other couple's wedding, but after that shit, I cut ties with them forever, and haven't looked back. So literally I haven't been treated like a human being by a western woman, other than my mother anyway and two former co-workers, in the past 20 years.

    Well, about 6 months ago, I tried to get a certain local Asian woman to date me, but she laughed at me, and in hindsight I can understand why she laughed at me, because I as 62lbs overweight at the time, and I botched the whole thing up anyway. But other than that, I've never been Mistreated by an Asian woman, and i wouldn't call that mistreating anyway, I deserved to be laughed at that day.

    4) I wouldn't come here anyway for wise counsel, although there are two or three Christian men or Deists on this site that I mostly trust, but they only come here mostly to rebuke everyone else's godless behavior here, which I totally understand.

    The men here think it's "normal" to want to fuck a woman up the ass or choke her during sex or some other perverted shit like that, so I wouldn't trust any of them to give a shit about you. Just saying. And half the women here are too stupid to say "no" even though they don't like that.

    In any case, take a real self defense class taught by an ex-marine, and punch the guy in the throat as hard as you can next time.   • Few things are going on here that your mixing into one question so ill split them into different questions.

    Why do men sexually assault women or think such a thing is acceptable? Biological nature mixed with either lack of morals or self control. Sexual urges can be very intense and unfortunately some individuals then just go out and assult women. It can also be a cultural thing, but its typically just assholes who don't hold back. Nobody in their right mind thinks that is acceptable behavior.

    Why do men sexually objectify women? For us the question is why wouldn't we do it? If you are attractive people will wonder what sex is like or see you as a potential mate. Its hard wired and in my opinion totally fine as long as they don't act on it in inappropriate ways. If a girl actively sexually fantasized about me i would be flattered and not offended. I think most men don't mind being seen as a sex object but we just like the girls also want to be seen as more than that if its not a casual fling.

    And lastly is it bad for people to flirt? In the situation you are describing with a married man who assaults absolutely. But regular compliments or flirting should not be seen as such a big deal.

If you had called the police, he would have been arrested. (Some municipalities have laws that allow the terms to be used somewhat interchangeably, but assault is technically the threat and battery is the completion of the threat through actual attack).     If he has done either or both, then he committed a reportable offense and you have every right to report him to the police as having done such to you!
