Cheated on bf at high school reunion. Why does this happen?

So the people I used to go to school with organize a lot of reunions. Class reunions, high school reunions, elementary school reunions, ... and every time I noticed the same thing happening. When we were young there was always two groups: the popular ones (dominant guys/bullies and hot girls) and the rest. I was lucky with my looks so got accepted with the popular ones but felt like the only one noticing that it was a little ridiculous. Now years later, nothing changed. The hot girls are still hot but are now in a relationship, married or even have kids. The dominant guys have somehow turned out to be successful but are arrogant as fuck. Now every single reunion, there are at least two successful guys who end up fucking one of the girls that are still hot and eveyone knows about it. The girls, even marrierd or with kids, talk to the successful guys, brag about how great their life is, and if the girl is impressed, the the guy gets to fuck her a little later. I've heard some of them going at it pretty hard when walking through the hallway. I never understood how a good looking, happy woman could let some arrogant guy fuck their brains out, after just meeting them again, while having a "happy" family at home. I have been happy with my bf for a couple years, but for some reason, I sometimes feel down for about a week, thinking of how my life could have been different. I think that's normal for everyone. Last month I've felt it more and I started noticing that other men turn me on. But I also thought that was normal. Last reunion I noticed everyone bragging about their succesful lives and it seriously got me depressed. Then this guy starts hitting on me. He was of course succesful, good looking and wasn't affraid to get really flirty and touchy, even after I told him about my bf. I for some reason just went to a room with him and we fucked like crazy. I didn't even care if anyone noticed, since all succesful people here did it.

Everyone just laughed at it and acted like it was normal. What are your experiences with it? I don't plan on telling my bf, but how do I prevent this from happening in the future? The whole bragging about each others life and getting depressed I mean.

  • Well I'm not gonna rip into you or tear you down with names like some have here, you're human and we all make mistakes. HOWEVER, I do believe in loyalty and I've always felt if you can let yourself make a poor decision so easily then you need to be honest with yourself and your boyfriend and really think if the relationship is right for you.

    • Thanks for being understanding. Or at least neutral. I think my relationship with my bf is actually really good. I just get this depressed feeling, but only on very few occasions. I start thinking about whether I really have what I want. And than I see all those other people acting like their life is great, and they fuck each other, and I made the mistake to try and go with their ways. And of course now I feel worse.

    • You're welcome, I didn't come on here to unleash my fury on others lol. I'm not saying your relationship isn't good but are you IN love with your boyfriend or just love him as a person? No matter how depressed you may get if you're in love with someone they will be all you need when you need that comfort. You also said other men turn you on which leads me to believe there's a risk of this happening again. That's why I say for yourself and your boyfriend, maybe take a break and really think about things.

He was talking about his job, his trips, his car, he told me I look beautiful and wasn't afraid to get close, touch me a little. He didn't show emotional interest though. He just showed that he's not the kind of guy that can't get what he wants. It was like from the first second he was 100% sure he was gonna fuck me and not even a bf could stop him.
