Please answer me these 3 questions:

1. Are men who drink and smoke more attractive to you? Or only men who drink or only men who smoke? Or neither?

2. Do cigarettes/alcohol make a man attractive only for a one night stand, or also for a long term relationship?

3. Are you a smoker? Do you usually tend to drink a lot of alcohol or only a little/not at all?

Ok strange. I actually wanted to check this articel:
asia.be.com/.../...who-smoke-and-drink-124119.html
but for whatever reason it seems like the results of the study don't match the answers to my question
+1 y
Last question: Has your preference for (or aversion to) smokers/drinkers changed over the course of your life, or has it always been the same as it is today? For example: have you been attracted to smoking/drinking men when you were 14 but not anymore?

Superb Opinion

  • I definitely do NOT agree with the picture.

    1. Are men who drink and smoke more attractive to you? Or only men who drink or only men who smoke? Or neither?
Absolutely not, smoking is gross and overconsumption of alcohol is dumb.

    2. Do cigarettes/alcohol make a man attractive only for a one night stand, or also for a long term relationship?
Maybe for some they are good for a long term for some woman. But I avoid them like the plague. And risk taking behaviour (because smoking and drinking is exactly that) is definitely not long term material.

    3. Are you a smoker? Do you usually tend to drink a lot of alcohol or only a little/not at all?
I don't smoke but I do like a drink from time to time, just in moderate amounts and not every day or even every week.

Also, the reason why your answers here do not correlate with the article might be because you have a different type of woman on here.
People that participate in public studies have different personalities than those who don't participate. It is a generalised outcome, as is with all studies, because it is not the full female world population that has been questioned, just a part of it.

    • @littleturtleduck Thanks for your opinion. Your explanation makes sense although I would not have thought that GaG women are so extremely different from the rest of the world women

    • It's not that GaG woman are different; it is that woman who participate in studies are just not a 100% representation of the entire world population unless they ask all woman in the world. Studies are done by putting out adds like "participate and get a giftcard for wallmart". So there is a bunch of people who will and won't participate for various reasons. So the woman that will be represented in the results will be woman who also shop at wallmart wich is definitely not the whole female world population. Do you fully understand what I mean now? And as for the update: No my taste in boys/men has always been the same.

    • @littleturtleduck Yes i understand. And thanks for answering the update.

  • 1. Are men who drink and smoke more attractive to you? Or only men who drink or only men who smoke? Or neither? I tend to avoid smokers, I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke, which is odd considering I find my fathers scent comforting ( cigarette smoke, Mechanics grease and sweat). If someone is an excessive drinker i tend to to avoid them as well. So I would say no, drinking and smoking doesn't make men more attractive in my eyes

    2. Do cigarettes/alcohol make a man attractive only for a one night stand, or also for a long term relationship? Also no

    3. Are you a smoker? Do you usually tend to drink a lot of alcohol or only a little/not at all? I'm not a smoker but I do drink on occasion

    • @minnie97 Have you always had an aversion to smokers/drinkers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore?

    • As far as I remember I've always had the same thoughts and feelings toward smokers and drinkers.

What Girls & Guys Said

  • No! The easiest way to turn me off, is smell like cigarettes, and coincidentally be drunk!

    • @crazygirl2 Have you always had an aversion to smokers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore? And if so, at what age did it change?

    • YES to the aversion question! I have NEVER had a preference for smokers. I just can’t stand the stench of cigarette smoke! I kissed a guy who had smoked a cigarette, back in middle school. I have no idea how he didn’t stink of cigarettes, but he didn’t. As soon as I kissed him though, I could taste the cigarette. It was what I would imagine licking an ashtray would taste like! Also, if you don’t care enough about yourself or your own health, to not poison yourself with tobacco… then you are incapable of caring for anyone else in my opinion! If you want to smoke, that’s your business, but just don’t think you could ever go out with me! It’s not that I think I’m special or anything, I just hate the smell of cigarettes!

  • Absolutely not. I don't find men who smoke or drink attractive at all! Is my biggest turn off. I rather have a boyfriend who's a selfish narcissist (which is the second thing I hate on a guy) than that. When it comes to 1 night stands, I wouldn't sleep with a guy who smokes or drinks. It just shows he doesn't take care of his health, and that he either hangs out with bad influences, or he just decides to have fun with dangerous things, or alleviate sadness with them. Whatever is the reasoning behind smoking or drinking, is bad! And I don't want to let someone with bad habits that isn't willing to change, in my life.

    • @yolo18 Thanks for your opinion! Have you always had an aversion to smokers/drinkers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore? And if so, at what age did it change?

  • I disagree with the picture.

Please answer me these 3 questions:

    1. If a man drinks occasionally, isn’t sloppy but mature and knows his limits then I don’t mind.

    2. No. There’s a lot more that can make a man more attractive.

    3. I’m not a smoker but I used to smoke hookah sometimes. I drink a bit but but mostly on special occasions.

    • @ssam23 I also used to smoke hookah ✌️. I am not sure if I get you right: "There’s a lot more that can make a man more attractive." does that mean that smoking does look attractive, but that it is just an add on and not necessary if one wants to look attractive?

  • Whisper is a shit place to find opinions.

    • @missy52 What is Whisper? 😅

    • The place you got your pic from. It's an anonymous app where you're supposed to say things you can't tell anyone else

  • Disgusting. If he smokes, its a dealbreaker. If he drinks, its not a dealbreaker but i’d probably avoid dating him anyways. It doesn't matter if its long term or not. I dont hookup, but either way i dont wanna date them. I dont smoke or drink. If the guy just drank a bit at like weddings a few times a year or something, thats different. But if he's drinking weekly/monthly (even if just beer, nope).

    • Cigs are more of a dealbreaker than weed. But i dont want anyone who smokes ANYTHING... not even hookah

    • @dizzydesii Ok interesting. Thanks for your opinion. Have you always had an aversion to smokers/drinkers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore? And if so, at what age did it change?

    • I've always found them to be a turnoff. I’ve only dated one smoker/drinker and that was at the age of 14. He hardly did it around me so i didn't find out til close to the end of the relationship what he was doing

  • No I dont want that at all. I hate the smell of cigarettes and dont want a guy who excessively drinks.
    Everything in moderation

    • Have you always had an aversion to smokers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore? And if so, at what age did it change?

  • I think girls who are into “bad boys” and “thrill” will have a fetish for it, but I actually don’t care whether the guy smokes or not. I’ll tell them to give organic, pure leaf cigarettes a try, though, if they do smoke. Tobacco actually used to be used as a medicinal plant, and it’s mostly the hundreds of additives and high level of processing that’s killing smokers more so than the actual tobacco itself. I don’t think a few of those cigar companies even use actual tobacco, just whatever scraps they can pick off the floor. Just grow the plant, grind it, and smoke high quality. Jeanne Louise Calment, the person who had lived to the oldest age in modern history, used to smoke.

I’ve also seen that smoking is a cultural thing in some places like Asia. Your link is from Asia, so maybe that’s why there’s so much anomaly. They assume girls like bad boys, which I also see reflected in many otome games and dramas. Most of the people in western countries have been bombarded by images of bad things happening to smokers and find it unattractive.

  • Smoking is an old mans hobby that's fast dying out. It's one of the main reasons I'd turn a guy down. As for whisky, it's one thing to have the odd glass but when it's always on his breath he's got a drinking problem.

    • @purplepoppy Have you always had an aversion to smokers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore? And if so, at what age did it change?

    • No I've never liked them

    • @purplepoppy Ok thanks for your opinion!

  • I wouldn't like it if my partner smoked. Alcohol is fine as long as they don't drink it everyday. I think only the smoking is a turn off as well as any heavy drinking. I do not smoke since I care about my health too much. As for drinking, I only do it once in a while. Usually it's only one bottle, glass, or can. Never gets over one because it takes me a while to finish it.

    • @pbandj_nerd Have you always had an aversion to smokers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore? And if so, at what age did it change?

    • I never really had a preference for smokers. But I know smokers tend to smell like smoke, have bad breath, etc. Not only would I not like the smell of it but I really wouldn't want to lose someone due to say lung cancer (or just see them slowly die in general due to the cigarettes). That would be one of the saddest things ever.

  • 1. Neither. Both are terrible habits who only make you stink and ruin your health.

    2. It depends. I'm not into one night stands and I don't like men who have these habits, but I think that for women who like it/don't care about it, it makes no difference. I mean, for them, a man who smokes and/or drinks is suitable for both.

    3. No, I'm not a smoker. And even I had nothing against smoking I couldn't do it because I have asthma. I only drink a little on New Year's Eve.

    • @menina Thanks for your opinion :) Have you always had an aversion to smokers/drinkers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore? And if so, at what age did it change?

    • You're welcome. :) No, I've always had an aversion to smokers and drinkers.

  • 1. No, I like to have drinks but I don't even have time to drink more than once a week or so. so I would date a guy who drinks or one who doesn't.

    2. Whether the guy drinks or not makes no difference, either I am attracted to the guy
    or not.

    3. Yes but I cut back to like 2-5 smokes a day, and trying to quit entirely. so that is the only reason I don't want to date a smoker, because it would encourage me to smoke more.

    • @hannah7 Ok and what about smoking? Does weather the guy smokes or not makes a difference?

  • 1. Are men who drink and smoke more attractive to you? Or only men who drink or only men who smoke? Or neither?
    - No. I don't mind an occasional drinker/smoker but i dislike people who smoke or drink regularly/excessively.

    2. Do cigarettes/alcohol make a man attractive only for a one night stand, or also for a long term relationship?
    - refer to

    3. Are you a smoker? Do you usually tend to drink a lot of alcohol or only a little/not at all?
Not a smoker. Drink on occasion.

  • 1, neither, 2 no way, 3 nope not at all.

    • @uniquelyshy Have you always had an aversion to smokers/drinkers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore?

  • I don't agree with the caption.

I don't smoke & I don't want to be around anyone who does. The odor of smoke is very offputting. So that would be a deal-breaker.

I enjoy alcoholic beverages responsibly & in moderation, so I'm fine with someone like that. I like wine, Scott's go-to is beer, & there are mixed drinks we both enjoy.

    • @meghanl Have you always had an aversion to smokers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore?

    • I don't remember ever not disliking it. Aside from health issues of second-hand smoke I don't care for the odor & I really hate how it gets into my clothes & my hair. Whenever I've been around it I've had to shower, wash my hair & change clothes when I get home. Luckily my family friends & coworkers are all nonsmokers so I don't need to deal with it very much.

  • Hell no. That picture just gives me red flags like he might be abusive.

    • @sweettay Have you always had an aversion to smokers/drinkers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore?

    • No never had a preference for smokers.

    • @sweettay Ok thanks for your opinion 🙂

  • drinking is okie when it’s casual or at parties etc!! but smoking is a hardddddd pass for me 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️

    • @valentina4eva Have you always had an aversion to smokers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore? And if so, at what age did it change?

  • 1. No. Neither.
    2. No, Neither.
    3. No. Not at all

    • @nice-girl Have you always had an aversion to smokers/drinkers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore? And if so, at what age did it change?

  • I don't really have an attraction or unattraction to drinking but I don't like it when a guy smokes and that's because of the smell and what his teeth will look like and just the whole lung cancer factor of it all.

My above statement stands for one night stands and long term relationships.

I don't smoke.. cigarettes but I drink whenever I'm out.

    • @kipanther Have you always had an aversion to smokers, or did it develop over the course of your life? For example: did you have a preference for smokers when you were 14 but not anymore? And if so, at what age did it change?

  • I have to agree. Smokers and drinkers are somehow more attractive.

    • Vaping is also attractive so not just smokers

    • @apple1996 Thanks for your opinion.

  • I can't STAND the smell of cigarettes, nor do I want to taste it on my partners tongue, BUT it isn't a deal breaker.
No, if a guy smokes/drinks it doesn't make him more attractive.
Social drinking is okay, but I don't let people smoke in my house, if my friends can't smoke in my house, neither can you, even if we are in a relationship!
