Question inspired by a TV show.Scene from AHS: a man unzips his pants and gets on top of a woman to rape her. She pulls a gun out of his pocket and kills him.In real life, do you believe that a person should have the right to use lethal self-defense against someone who's trying to rape them?

obviously. if someone is trying to actually rape you, of course you should be able to. it's a horrible crime. better to not experience it. the person who was trying to do that to you doesn't deserve to live anyway

Fuck yes, they should. If the person is raping you, then there is a good chance they would try and kill you too. I have no problem shoving my pocket knife into the guy’s neck.

I think we are allowed to do it. It's assault. They threaten your personal safety. It's violent and in self defense u can legally shoot them I'm pretty sure of it

The only thing I will say is no one has the right to rape someone be it man or woman. There are plenty of people that this should never happen. But some think they have the right to force themselves on others.

No lethal should only be used to defend your life in extreme cases otherwise you can knock out your rapist with whatever weapon you got without killing him or her. Unless you got a murderer trying to rape you it's simply not justified.

I believe that they should have the right to fire a gun at someone if they are being raped but only as a last resort. First, you should try punching and kicking then, if that didn't work, pull out a gun and see if that deters them, if it doesn't, then shoot them, but don't aim for a fatal shot. Aim for the leg or lower torso.
That being said, if you have had the training to know how to use a gun, you might as well train in martial arts instead/as well. I think that judo would be the best martial art against rape because they teach you to get out of ground holds.

I have to slightly disagree If you ever take a gun course (concealed carry, security, self-defense, etc.) they will teach you that you don't ever try to give a "warning shot" or "to aim for non-vital areas." Once you pull that gun out you aim for center of mass and fire what you need to stop the aggressor.

Boiled down judo , BJJ and Russian Sombo are good for floor fighting , but needs to be combined with effective striking too , Muay Thai and esp it's more savage neighbour from Myanmar , Lethwei , which also allows headbutts are effective.

I believe they should have this right, if their life is in danger. But pepper spray or shooting them in the leg is better if it is not life threatening. Even carrying a small gun with the safety on, might be a great deterrent

We should. Do you realize how many rapes can have been prevented? Rapists are under the impression that they're about to abuse someone who can't fend for themselves either very well or at all. So they see it as an easy way to get off. Rapists want pleasure at the expense of someone else. They don't wanna die. If they're afraid of losing their lives, then that's great. Maybe they'll think twice about trying to violate someone's bodily autonomy.

Well i am all for Rapists to be killed so yes in the perfect world. But of course some people could just abuse the self defense to kill who they want. Hopefully cops would step up there game and figure out which from which.

Only problem is by the time you know someone is about to rape you you're probably not in a position to defend yourself very well.
