@JHAYES317 it was all fucked up. Years of control and emotional abuse. He was only with me because he wanted kids and the woman he really wanted (and cheated on me with) couldn't have kids. Once we had the children he wanted, that was it, he wasn't interested anymore. I was beaten down so much that I believed I couldn't ever do any better than him. So thinking of an ex friends with benefits was a tiny bit of escape.
