Superb Opinion

  • Lots of men are already giving up on relationships because they aren't able to find (or, to a lesser degree attract) "relationship material" women. And the vast majority of these men aren't going to prostitutes - they're going without sex entirely in most cases, and some are finding women just for casual sex. Prostitution wouldn't be a major factor - even if it were legal everywhere in the US, I don't think most men would visit. The ones who would are largely the ones who already patronize prostitutes today - and believe me, prostitution exists in virtually every town of 10,000 or more people.

The biggest difference if prostitution was legalized (and I would suggest something like the Australian model, which legalizes individuals working out of their own homes as solo acts, OR women working at licensed brothels - streetwalking and multiple women working together is not legal, nor is pimping), the biggest thing that would improve would be the safety of the women involved, because, since they are no longer involved in criminalized behavior, it would be far more likely that police and the courts would protect them, while today, that almost never happens.

    • Yeah. Women will cheat, use your money and stuff. Modern Men understands that marriage is basically saying "Ok drain my money" and then if the woman cheats then it gets worse. That is why a lot of men now and days look for casual hook ups or hire a prostitute. Would you rather spend 80% of your salary on your wife or spend 1000 for a prostitute?

  • Some might. Mostly the ones who only wanted sex from relationships. This might improve the market of men from women's perspective. It also means men will seek from relationships that which they couldn't simply get at a brothel. The emotional intimacy, shared goals, raising a family, etc.

Prostitution might also help relationships, if they are open to prostitution. Basically, it can act as a buffer between the partners' libidos which might reduce sexual frustration in the relationship if the libido imbalance is too high.

Most Helpful Girls

  • majority of men wouldn't. the less desirable and unattractive men that get little to no attention from women would because that's their only way of getting sex with someone. the men with morals won't. the men who actually want relationships won't. the men who care about what other men think (which is the majority of men) won't because most men see paying for sex as desperate and not masculine since its a "cop out" for not being able to obtain sex through skill and mutual interest.

    • I like how women can simultaneously believe that a man-whore shouldn’t be celebrated for his number of sexual partners... ... while also shaming men for being losers because they can’t “obtain sex.”

    • i didn’t call anyone a loser

  • In my country, Japan, we have very weak prostitution laws, and it is that way on purpose. The law defines it as paying a stranger for sex. If they know that person, it is legal. So, brothels arrange a coffee date for the customer, and then they can meet for sex the next day as old friends. 😂 We have "red light" districts in most large cities. Prostitution has not caused men to give up on relationships here.

    • To be fair, the dating world in Japan has been in chaos for half a decade has it not? Men and women aren't coupling nearly as often and birth rates have plummeted. Has this improved?

    • @emii_urashima hello from 🇺🇸 Is it a lot of pressure in Japan? Are there good jobs? Upward mobility for women?

What Girls & Guys Said

  • The ones who would, aren't ready for relationships anyway and would probably be doing some girl a favor by not pretending to be.

There might not be as many couples but I think the good couples would still be there.

  • So wait, men bitch about paying for a meal, but gonna pay for sex🤔🤣 people these days kill me.

    • It's basically the same thing. Except only one of those investments guaranteed sex 🤷

    • @Tyrael with that attitude, stick to the prostitutes

    • You're saying paying for meals isn't required to date a woman? Because if it is, it's paying for sex. Make your mind up.

  • Nope, not a chance... now if virtual relation girlfriends like a startrek holodeck existed that they could have real 3d virtual sex with... they just might in that case.

    • Depends who programs the holodecks; maybe they'll teach them to be better people...

    • @goaded Really I should of said more like that episode on the Orville where the guy got addicted to group sex in their version of a holodeck.

    • Was that fanfic, or a real episode?

  • Only losers pay for sex and don't value the companionship of a relationship so I guess it would weed them out!

  • It's legal to go to a restaurant when you want to be fed, or take your clothes to the cleaners yet guys still want a wife

  • No I don't think they would as most of them enjoy relationships just like most women do.

  • No, pr*stitution is legal here and most of the men who pay for them are married men. So whether it’s a legal service or not, most men will still be in relationships while using said services.

    • Ya pay her to leave

  • No. This has already been shown in places where prostitution is legal.

  • There already exist BOTH $$$ 'escort' services offering "the girlfriend experience" and... more cavalier modern females "friends with benefits" sans commitments (hopefully employing birth control)

  • No, because sex and love are two different things, and especially separate to most men.

  • Depends on if they want to rotate womeen for the rest of their life or just cozy up to 1 or 2 favorites. Its personal preference. Not all men are sex addicts

  • Nope …

I am not a man, however, I have learned enough to know that. Men want more than sex. Maybe for a short time it’s fun but
they want love, connections, stability and family.

  • It is legal in many places and relationships thrive.

  • I don't think a lot of men will be willing to share.

  • Naaah. Because men are very... VERY different.

  • No because most people want to have sex with someone who thinks they’re attractive and wants them, not someone who is just pretending because they were paid to.

  • For the most part, yes. However there are still men with high moral standards out there like my boyfriend.

  • They're gonna run out of money sooner than they think.

  • An old colleague of mine used to say
"I don't pay for the sex, I pay so they don't call me back later"

I think legal prostitution would be a go to solution for a lot of people especially those who work too much for social life but at least make good money because I imagine once it's legal it's gonna be costly since the demand will overtake the supply very fast.

Still I don't think it can substitute a relationship. I think guys who blow away fortunes on OF models will just hire women to come over but those who still enjoy the game will still go out and meet girls the old fashioned way

  • Surprisingly I think more men would seek relationships because a girlfriends would be cheaper than a hooker.
