  • Yes and No. For some men they might just want sex and that is fine. Others might want something more serious in a relationship. There are guys happily being single because they have enough money to hire a prostitute everyday.

  • The men who just want sex would "give up" on relationships, sure. But that would clear the field for the men who do want relationships, removing a lot of clutter for both men and women.

  • Have men given up on relationships where prostitution is legal or at least decriminalized?

    That would be “No”

  • Because MEN ARE PIGS

  • It would have to depend on the guy. In my case it'd be nope, I don't think I'd give up on a relationship. I love sex, but I also love having a connection as well. Plus I'm not going to to pay to bump uglies with someone.

  • men have always controlled what is legal and what is not...

if most men truly wanted relationships to not be a thing and they just wanted the sex

pay for sex would not only be legal, but also a right guaranteed under the constitution, and also covered with taxes and healthcare benefits

  • Some would. But far from all, it better to get it for free, it just lower the worth, so female have less bargain power and will have to settle for less.

  • Those sexy robots might be another story though

    • lol :)

    • Until they malfunction and go into “can we just talk” mode

  • I don't believe they would, because there will be men that will not wish to engage in a hedonistic lifestyle like that and there men that will be on board for it, but overall no.

I feel prostitution should be legalized. Why punish people for a consensual act between adults? Plus people who want sex and struggle to get it through the normal means of courtship like incels or whoever can get their nut and call it a day. May even lower the amount of rapes and trafficking or pimping too if women are given the choice to work similar on a legal way to what escorts do.

    That's just me though.

  • History shows us that this would not happen, back to the Roman Empire and beyond.

  • No. Most prostitutes are either people you couldn’t pay me to sleep with. Mostly homeless people and dirty men. They are disgusting.

The ones who do look even decent enough. Would cost too much money.

Men who want a real relationship. Probably not

  • That's as daft as saying legalizing class A and B drugs will put doctors and pharmacies out of business.

  • Prostitution is legal in some states

  • No, their poor wallet would bleed out.

  • No, because prostitutes are in no way a substitute for girlfriends much less wives. You share them with maybe thousands of men and have sex with them and that's it. Plus, they're expensive and don't share their income with the household.

  • Prostitution IS legal. The majority of the US isn’t the entirety of humanity. People who have been studying regions in which prostitution has been legal for years have found some interesting things. Not only have marriage rates NOT declined, but they statistically last longer and married people more frequently reported being happier in their marriages. To my knowledge, no conclusion has been suggested as to causality, but the findings themselves are interesting on their own. There are some other findings that largely support legalization of prostitution more widely. My personal beliefs include that dating, relationships and marriages in the US would widely benefit from doing so.

  • Only assholes would

  • Nope, there's no evidence of that now or any time in history

  • Prostitution is legal in many countries, and in those countries, most relationships are doing just fine. Most prostitutes will tell you that most of their customers are married, and looking for something they don't get at home. When the woman at home accepts that, as many do in those countries where prostitution is legal, the couple's relationship is just fine.

  • A few might, but no Real Man wants a life devoid of relationship.
