One of my guy friends also said that it's "standard" for a guy to know his dick size.

Mine is fairly small when flaccid (about three inches long). Luckily, I am a grower, so I do reach about 6.5 inches long erect and 5 inches around. Honestly, though, I don't really care about penis size.

I have measured my penis. i measure it from the top. then from the body to the head. I measure it erect and I barely measure it only sometimes when it feels different when i jerk off

To my knowledge proper measurement is from the top of the penis with the ruler “bone pressed” at the pubic bone and measure along the top to the tip. That is length.
Girth would be measured around the shaft.

I actually just measured recently, because it had been a few years, and I was just kind of curious... I used to measure all the time when I was a
dumb teenager. I guess guys do it to compare themselves to other guys, I mean it's not like you'll need to know to buy clothes or something. I guess it's helpful for picking out condoms, but otherwise it's probably just a shitty ego thing. I was also surprised to see that I'd grown about an inch since I last measured. I guess exercise really does pay off. The first time I measured it was actually because a girl asked me, and I didn't know, lol. I went home and like immediately got the measuring tape.
I actually haven't measured, though just by eyeballing it- I'm very pleased with my size lol.
I guess I just haven't ever had a reason to measure it. Well, I suppose one might say "Well if you're pleased by the visuals, wouldn't you want to know what your number is?"... so yeah, I guess most guys DO have some sort of curiosity to measure. But I just... haven't.

Yep, it was scary measuring it. I didn't even wanna measure it cuz ignorance is bliss, I was afraid of the result... but at some point you just gotta accept what the ruler will tell you. I was pretty depressed when the ruler landed on the 5in mark but over the years learned to accept it. It's small but it ain't that small! The way I see is that I should be grateful for what I have. What if I had a 2 in? I would wish that I had a 5 !

i think it´s normal to have measured the length at some point just to be sure about what you can bring to the table. i didn´t ever measure circumference though.

meh... i´m average but i never actually used it for it´s purpose so i don´t know if i´m happy with it. i just feel like i should be 8-9 inch to make girls happy.

Really? I bought a 6inch toy and I felt it was a bit big. My toys are like 5 or 4 inches and they feel awesome to me. Yea. I know. It sucks to feel your body is inadequate. Especially if you wanna please that person you love. But most of the times the insecurities are in our heads.
