How do you achieve a successful orgasm?
The "body" and the "glans" are the most sensitive. They are, effectively, a mini-penis less the urethra, which is separate and an inch down the runway. Like our version, the glans is very sensitive and is easily over-stimulated. The key is to get it aroused and hard (like ours) without excessive contact. That's why a blow job work so well for us as foreplay. It pleasures the glans without overdoing it. You need to do the same at your clitoris.

With a lot of trial and error, this is what I have discovered when fingering a girl.
1. Apply lube or lotion liberally outside your lips in the entire region around your clit. Aloe Vera lotion is better than personal lube because it gives a little more traction; yet reduces abrasion and the alcohol in it has a pleasant chilling effect. Part your lips to allow lotion to reach the body and glans.
2. Begin with flat handing (3 fingers) outside your lips. Circles. Reverse circles. Zig-zags. Adjust speed and downward pressure as you need it. Gradually your clit will welcome more as it thickens and extends from arousal.
3. At a certain point, you will want more than you can provide outside your lips. Slide two fingers between your lips on both sides of the body/glans (clit) and apply a tickling motion. This will complete the arousal process and you will want even more.
4. Return to the circles and zig-zags but directly on your clit. Speed and pressure as you need it. Important: If you sense even a trace of dryness, re-lube so you don't abrade your clit. This alone may be all you need to reach an orgasm with no insertion at all.
5. But if you need a push, slide your first and second fingers into your vagina.

Curl them up toward/behind your pubic bone. You should feel a soft, padded area, which is your g-spot. A branch of the clitoral network (not shown in the graphic) surrounds it. At the same time, lay the tip of your thumb on your clit. You can then apply a thrusting motion that caresses your clit, vagina entrance and g-spot all at the same time. It sounds like your getting very close to orgasm and you need to keep going and push yourself past the throbbing your feeling.

I am into edging, so i understand the differences pretty well here.
You get the edging part right but you say your stopping because it becomes to intense. Part of what happens with edging is that you can build yourself up to extreme pleasure. Your effectively climbing up a pyramid and once your over the top you slide down in nice sexual relief as all the tension fades away. But because you stop before you reach the tip you slide back down a bit but not on the right side of that pyramid.

So you are going to need something to push you over that edge unless you love edging as much as i do and happily stay this way :P. I'd say given the lack of toys try the showerhead and just keep it on despite how intense it gets and see if that does the trick.
