Have you ever gotten pregnant on the pill? Or gotten someone pregnant?

I am on the pill and I take it religiously at the same time. My boyfriend and I are discussing forgoing condoms. Not concerned about STDs. Have you ever had your pill fail while even taking it at the same time? What are your opinions?

  • In 35 years, with 25+ women who were on the pill, I never had a pregnancy or even a genuine scare.

As long as you take the pill around the same time every day, and as long as you don't mix it with other meds that are known to reduce the Pill's effectiveness (most antibiotics would be on that list, but there are others), then the chances of failure are super small. Most pill "failures" are really failures to take it regularly or failures (mostly of doctors) to communicate the likelihood of drug interactions when prescribing other meds.

  • I haven’t had the pill fail but my mom got pregnant with me while on the pill so it’s definitely possible. No contraception is a 100% effective. Maybe to decrease pregnancy chances even more you can use spermicide in addition to birth control. I know condoms are more common and effective but I’m sure you don’t want to be using condoms with your boyfriend

  • I took bc for 10 years never got pregnant. Never used condoms and bc unless i took antibiotics. Only time your at risk if is you take antibiotics. Or if you take other meds that decrease the amount absorbed into your body.

  • I have never been on the pill because I take the depo shot every 3 months. It is more effective than the pill.

  • All birth control has a small chance of failing, even if used perfectly. The only way to absolutely ensure you don't get pregnant is to not have sex. But, birth control is something like 95% effective, meaning that 95% of women who take it per year don't get pregnant.

One thing that I might recommend if you're still very, very afraid of getting pregnant is to use spermicide. They sell packs of individual applicators that you use each time you have sex. You could try that. It's another layer or birth control, and you're still getting the natural feeling that is so, soooo good.

  • Every girlfriend I ever had was on the pill. We never used any other form of protection. Had lots and LOTS of sex and never a mishap in thousands of solid trials.

  • The pill is very very reliable if taken at the same time each day and without missing any doses.

  • That's one of the reasons I never had sex.

  • no. I know people who have. they were married. none of this stuff, including condoms are fool proof. Life... wants to live and find a way! There's no way around the fact that this activity, is to create offspring.

  • The pill was very reliable with my ex-wife even though she wasn't all that methodical about taking it.

Just got to stay aware of interactions with other medications prescribed or otherwise as some things reduce the effectiveness of the pill

  • I’m infertile, never had to worry about this

  • a relative of mine had got one of his girlfriend's pregnant while she was on the pill injection and the implant... the docs refused to accept it was possible but low and behold 9 months later out popped his son

  • Birth control pills are 99% effective, condoms are 98%. Your chances are low ethier way but birth pills do a better job than condoms then again both at the same time? would be super effective but who wants to do that and even then still some chance.

  • Well I’ve had a woman get pregnant while using the pill. I’d say if you didn’t want kids just wrap it up and stay safe.

  • It’s failed twice in my life :/ no method is fool proof short of being sterile.

  • Nope

  • Have never had sex without a condom. But I had one fail and it wasn't the pill that saved the day, but Plan B. Wasn't too cheap.

  • I have not. You’re probably safe. Good luck. But double check with your doctor just to be on the safe side.

  • I haven't gotten anyone pregnant and I almost never use condoms. My girlfriend's on the pill, so far nothing's gone wrong.

  • I wouldn’t risk it

  • Luckily no.

  • Pill is not good for your health because intimately it will effect your egg production and may lead to pcos and can start effecting your mood aswell in future try practicing cumming in anal otherwise on tits or try doggy so that he comes on your back , try not to cum in its natural and pill can effect your chance of getting pregnant in future

    • Yeah, I don't think any of this is true.

    • @kmala any trustworthy sources on any of these? I didn’t hear the ones you talk about here and now you scared some people away from the pill and therefore maybe you’re now auxiliary responsible for some unplanned pregnancy. Or are your Catholic?

    • @Boromir well it happened with one person but if you do research you will come to know how bad these pills are for health , but everyone has his her own life , do you really think people will follow my advice nah bro , nobody gives a fuck in todays world. what i have seen i told , but the girls can do research themself
