    When I was 15, my parents bought a new, midnight blue Ford van similar to this, except it only had the driver/passenger seat and a single bench seat directly behind, so there was a large "cargo area" in the back. This is the vehicle I took my driver's test in, and also the vehicle that I went on dates with. Hell, my crazy high school even let me drive myself and other band kids on some multi-night band trips in it! (Single-day events were always in school busses by policy, but if we were staying the night, we had to use private transportation.)

    I'm sure you can figure out how a 16/17-year-old would leverage a van with a 7' long, flat cargo area and limo-tinted windows to his advantage. Clearly my parents didn't think it through...

    "If this van is rockin' don't come a-knockin" used to be a fairly common bumper sticker. Those vans got a lot of use out in the parking lot of the meat markets. Sometimes they were really rockin' - putting the springs and shock absorbers to a good test.

    I remember driving a car once with a couple of people in the back seat. The whole car was bouncing down the highway. If I didn't have a seat belt on I might have been flung out the window - not a good idea if the driver is a hundred feet behind the car.
