Hi, I was circumcised in August last year and I'm willing to answer any questions you guys might have?

As the title says I was circumcised in August last year by a circumcision clinic. If anyone has any questions at all or wants to clarify anything let me know and I would be more than happy to tell you 😊 I wasn't circumcised for any reason other than preference and I had a working foreskin previously so I have a good idea about what has changed and what works in a different way. I thought I would wait a while after circumcision so I had a good amount of time to adjust to the new way of things. Ask Away! As a circumcised guy since I was an infant, I'm mostly curious as to why now you decided to get it done.

With that diagram showing stitches, it looks a lot more invasive to get done.

As an infant, not only do you not recall it being done, but it also heals faster and better than if you were an adult.

Also considering you got it done after puberty, after your penis has pretty much finished developing and nerve endings and brain connections and all that hoopla is established, wouldn't there be a more noticeable reduction in sensation?

I mean if it was done prior to puberty, before it started to develop, it would have had a better end result, possibly?

You say you got it done by preference, but why or what made you prefer to be circumcised rather than keep it at this stage in your life?

Don't get me wrong, I'm just curious and you do what you do... And although I am circumcised and I have no issues to speak of, I don't (personally) believe it is for everyone and should be done more for medical reasons (there are legitimate reasons despite what some may say)

I mean, if the penis and foreskin are working just fine, why mess with it at this stage in your life? It's obviously not something you can hit the old Undo button on.

Hey mate, exactly right I definitely can't press the undo button on this one. I wanted to get the frenulum removed and they circumcised me aswell as removing the frenulum. To be fair I did go to a clinic so I do understand why I got circumcised but I thought they would of just done the frenulum removal. I just got it done because the frenulum was tight when having sex and I tried stretching it but it was too painful. I am very lucky that it's healed so amazingly and I have no stitch marks or noticeable scars because it almost looks like it was done at the same time as most people due to them using a skin glue. Yes I definitely agree some people would function better circumcised due to tight foreskin or something like that. I'm just lucky it turned out so well and that I enjoy it

Nevermind. I see you explained the "Why" below. In regards to masturbating while circumcised, here's a "Tip." Flip your hand around so the thumb and index are facing towards your public bone and the remaining fingers are upward towards the head. Allow the fingers to adjust pressure / glide along the shaft / head area. When I was going through puberty, the "normal" way you typically see someone mastirbate (such in porn or what have you) also never really worked for me either and seems more of a chore to get anything out of it. Reversing the hand position should improve things in that department for you.

With this hand position, you also shouldn't have to worry about chafing or needing lube/lotion... I never needed any anyways. Basically, there is two different ways to masturbate depending on if you have foreskin or not. It sounds like you're realising the old way isn't working as well as it used to... It never worked for me because you don't have that foreskin to help with the old sliding sensation. You don't grip and yank, you flip the hand around (thumb and index to the public bone, top of hand facing towards you) and you glide with just enough pressure so that it's like the hand is more what a vagina does (which doesn't grip and yank) I don't normally give out masturbating tips, but considering your situation and what you said to others in here, it sounded like you needed a hand (pun intended) in improving this department.

Ah I see you responded in between me adding more. Good to hear the procedure went well and you don't have any noticeable stich marks, etc. Though I got it done as an infant, my wife and I originally decided to leave our son's alone as there was no real reason to alter it. Unfortunately, he was constantly getting various infections about every two weeks that involved getting antibiotics, regardless of how often we changed his diapers, etc. It's not a nice state of mind to be in when you have an infant constantly screaming and crying in pain and there's nothing you can do about it. After speaking with the doc, he had an elongated foreskin that was retaining more bacteria more often than usual and made it difficult to clean like normal. At that age, you simply can't pull back the foreskin to clean because it's still attached higher up (my memory is hazzy on the finer details)... But basically, since we didn't want our son to be in constant pain and loading him up on antibiotics on a regular basis is really not good for him in the long run, circumcision was the only real option. He's now almost 8 and has not once had another infection or any issues with his penis... so in his case, that was the right choice. Sounds like it was also the right choice in your situation, but for different reasons. Reasons you wouldn't have figured out until now when you're at the starting of having sex.

Not a prob. One of the first girls I made out with when I was around 17 or 18 seemed to have only experienced guys with foreskin and so she did that whole squeeze /yank routine and it fk'n hurt like hell and felt like she was trying to rip it off. Not pleasurable in the slightest. Though every other girl I have been with never did it like she did, so maybe she just had zero experience. Most likely anyways. See how you go with flipping the hand and if it improves things for you, it should allow you to refine things better for what suits you as you gain experience. But you can kiss the old way goodbye.

Yes I definitely respect your decision. I had a couple of infections in my life inside the foreskin but haven't had anything since. But I didn't sign up for the circumcision I just wanted the frenulum gone so it wasn't painful during sex. In saying that there isn't a point talking about it because I'm just as likely to get my foreskin back as you are because its long gone and I've just been focusing on the positives of the procedure. I think the nurse assistant had a say in the foreskin removal but I didn't end up watching the procedure I blatantly looked away (as you could imagine). Im happy so it's not a problem

Yeah, lube may still be the way to go for now until you figure out what works for you and everything is adapted to its new way of life. I'm not sure how long it will take as an adult to fully adapt. Eventually though, you shouldn't need lube.

No worries at all. Yeah the physical parts have adapted to being cut but not the actual actions and understanding how it works now. Definitely used to it but I'm not an expert so advice is always encouraged. I am curious to see after a year of having my penis head exposed if it would be similar to someone done at birth. There should definitely be studies on it but it could be completely different for all I know.

I think sex feels better without it but I do miss my foreskin sometimes. Still haven't got over trying to cover it sometimes and it's impossible obviously. It feels different during masturbation I just feel a lot less but sex I feel a lot more it's quite an odd sensation. I can masturbate without lube but I don't have much skin and it gets sore and chafed if I masturbate without lotion or vaseline. It's a big change considering I thought I was only getting my frenulum removed but they gave me a circumcision with it so it was definitely weird getting used to.

Yes I'm happy that I got circumcised knowing a year after I'm happy. I really enjoy sex but if you don't have a partner or don't have regular sex I wouldn't get it done due to it not feeling as nice. But I like the look of it and the pleasure is amazing during sex and it's so easy to clean. I know I could clean my foreskin before but now I can just soap it up and it's very easy and hygienic throughout the day. If you asked should I get it done I would say if it's something you've thought about for a while and you think you want it go for it. If you're just interested in it do some research and make an educated decision. But I am happy my penis is circumcised at least for now 😊

I've been intrigued by the idea of getting circumcised over the past few years, I definitely find it more aesthetic and I enjoy the feeling of having the head exposed (even though I can't keep it that way), but still, I don't feel like taking the leap. It's not something you can try and take back if you don't end up liking it, which is what I'm afraid might happen in my case. Your experience is very interesting and helpful, maybe it actually is nothing to worry about. Then again, I've never had any health or hygienic problems and I don't currently have a partner, so maybe I'm better off just leaving it the way it is... Anyway, thanks for sharing your story!

Yes sensation has changed a fair bit. Rubbing on the underwear has made it less pleasurable to masturbate but much more sensitive during sex. I feel much less normally when flaccid. For example I used to struggle with the shower water temperature on my penis head but ever since the snip I have it hot and don't even notice it. So there are good benefits when soft due to not even noticing I'm circumcised but drawbacks would be I wish I could please myself more when masturbating and have stronger orgasms masturbating. I don't know how or why they are affected but I still shoot and everything. Just feels a lot less sensation even though the pressure is the same. Masturbating is less pleasurable but sex is much more intense which is a weird thing to get used to. yes for about a month and a half it was uncomfortable with my underwear rubbing on the head but it became smooth and lost all of its shine to compensate for the lack of foreskin. I didn't mean to do it the doctor and nurse cut it off aswell as removing my frenulum because I was just getting a frenulum removal. So I didn't do it because I wanted it more so they thought it was better for me. Potentially it could help your partner's tight foreskin if it's an issue. It didn't hurt anywhere near as bad as I thought it was going to and I didn't specifically ask for circumcision. I wanted the frenulum (band on the underside) removed because it was causing pain and the doc and nurse circumcised at the same time as removing the frenulum. I didn't exactly choose it but I wanted the tightness of the frenulum gone.
