How do you feel about Obi-wan being gay?

Disney just released a new Padawan book highlighting Obi-wan's sexuality as a gay man. How do you feel about that? Does this change the way you feel about star wars?

It's stupid especially since the lore explicitly contradicts this both in canon and in legends.

In Canon Kenobi has had romantic relations with 3 women, all of which died right in front of him, 2 of which he loved, 1 of which was a fellow jedi. In Legends he had romantic relations with 4 women.

So you can't tell me that he's gay with the lore in both canon and legends explicitly contradicts that and say's that false. Kenobi even takes the name Ben because Satine called him that in private and he liked that and thought about and missed both of the women he loved right up until the moment he died.

There is no cannon to star wars that was deleted a long time ago including legends not been so or whatever else they want to say so. Mando series it's self contradicts many things in lore, so yeah no lore actually exists in star wars.

And how do you explain all the things from the EU that Disney brought into canon and is still being brought into canon or that they slightly altered and claimed was their own but in reality is just a rip off of EU material? Thrawn for instance was a character that only existed in the EU until Disney brought him into canon by bringing him into the Rebels TV series and making him one of the main villain's as well as having several canon books made about Thrawn. Thrawns noghri bodyguard rukh from legends who kills him is also canon as well and appeared in the rebels tv series. Gilad Pellaeon previously a legends only character, canonized. Project Deathwing from the Death Troopers books was also canonized to. The martial art Teräs Käsi previously legends only was canonized. Dash Rendar from the old legends games is canon so is the ship he flies the YT-2400 Darth Revan from Kotor, canonized The ancient jedi home world of tython canonized You want me to keep going? Just because they've taken ideas and copied them into don't mean they didn't get rid of legends been cannon. You are just proving my point here that they are just picking whatever parts they choose. That's not all of it been cannon is it now? Which means they are picking certain parts they want to be cannon. Proving there is not really an authenticity it's just what they make up as they go along.

@Kaneki05 So how's that any different from the George Lucas era? Even back then there was the expanded universe canon and the George Lucas canon. George didn't consider the EU canon either. Even back then there was canon and uncanon so nothing has changed. And Lucas picked and chose stuff from the EU and brought it into canon through official material.

And even if you believe that there's no canon at all, it doesn't change the fact that their claim would contradict the official media. Which shows that their claim is false. So fans will do what they always do and pick and choose what they like form EU and official media. And Disney will do exactly what George did and take things from the EU and make them official literally nothing changes in that regard. No matter what you think their claim still contradicts what we actually see in official media on screen which takes precedence above everything else.

Which is just how it be, sadly they don't stick to continuity that makes sense. Their is tons of plot holes in Disney's so called cannon so another one don't really matter. Which is why like you said fans will just pick what they want. For example myself actually likes force unleashed is cannon to me I say to me that's what star wars is because I find the story actually way more enjoyable than the original films. No one can legit argue it's cannon but no one can do that with anything past the originals. It's just kinda up to you what you like and don't like.

Now that its Disney franchise one could of expected as much, I mean lots of gays have a huge infatuation with Disney. And now days from Marvel to god knows what, regardless of time period of the movie is taking place they sneak at least on gay person into just to appease people. 1850 Western, its Disney their will be a gay guy in it. I mean Jedi are supposed to be emotionally unattracted, so yeah they sexualized Anakin and Padma, but but Obi was part of the old order... so his sexuality is completely irreverent.
