How do you think advancements in virtual reality or AI could change the way we experience intimacy? What are the negativity vs positivity of it?

  • In the short term it will be a positive because generative AI will end the scourge of OnlyFans as the thots get outcompeted by the bots. As most OF thots already look fake due makeup, filters, and surgeries the bots can easily imitate and surpass them; the AI girls will always look their best, never age or get fat, always be available, be much cheaper or even free, and can engage the simps at least as well as the vapid thots do.

In the long-term it may cause the extinction of the human race when you get Westworld-level sexbots that real women won't be able or willing to compete with. Optimistically it may just force the end of feminism because that only is able to exist because simps enable it, and when those simps bail on the friend-zone to get a bot, women will be forced to get the men back by offering them the one thing the bots can't: a family unit.

    • An offer of 8 years of marriage with two kids is more insult and injury than an offer of a family unit. Just saying :)

  • I suppose it could be helpful in LDRs. I guess there could even be guided intimacy e. g touch her here then squeeze her breast and she'll cum :).

I just don't see AI being able to replace flesh to flesh. Virtual Reality is different to AI - it is more that AI would include VR. Since AI is essentially learning, it is quite probable the AI version of your partner would learn how to get your rocks off better than your physical partner does.

    So might lead to dumping.

I imagine the AI version would be controlling vibrators and other machinery.

  • Only difference is people falling in love with computers and using toys to get off.

No big romance robots way to expensive for most people.

    • At first expensive but it rapidly decreases in price is the tech curve.

  • Combine a robotic love doll with AI and you could get the first one that says, "not tonight. I have a head ache"!

  • Zero impact on intimacy, as that relies on touch and feelings with another person.

    • Until they improve haptic feedback suits at least. I am so tempted to get one of those for VR gaming.

    • @SotiCoto you cannot get intimate with a machine. Well unless the person is a bit tapped.

    • I disagree. A lot of people don't want to go through the hassle of dating and meeting people and building up their social skills. See the hikomori in Japan.

  • I think AI/sex Androids are less than 20 years away. Maybe even under 10. They may end up like Thandie Newton in Westworld.

They will severely hamper the dating process and are likely to knock the bottom out of meeting the replacement rate in the West. Men (in particular) will buy these or even settle for weekend rentals and, given the climate of woke/SJW/feminism, men may stop dating entirely. Its safer and cheaper and would have guaranteed results.

If I were the "CCP", I would consider developing and marketing these in America (would they all like like Lucy Liu in her prime?) to subdue us as they take over the world. If you look at the flood of Chinese made sex toys, more are for men, I think they are part of the plan. For under $50, I can cum every day with no risks, court appearances or dating expenses.

  • Eventually somebody will create a robot that will give a better experience than the real thing

  • I have zero interest in either of those things. And the latter is problem.

  • Given the way tech corps are finding more ways to sell virtual girlfriends to desperate people, and arseholes are using AI-driven tools to catfish strangers online more frequently... I'd say the AI angle is just going to make people increasingly paranoid and insular.

  • at the end of the day there's still desire for the real thing. i play multiplayer games even though game AI is probably better than ever. i masturbate in front of real girls either in person or video chat even though there's so much porn available

  • Depends on how the product looks, if it looks half ass, then it will get half ass treatment. It is a good thing because it will give males confidence and help with males psychological structure, these days guys are traditional and women want to be non traditional or traditional out of convenience. When you get married she does her part of the relationship for a little bit of the relationship and then the men get taken down the cleaners, now think about a product that looks just like it, feels just like it, and also never changes it’s mind when another person is around, something that is consistent and loving. Women were given dildos to replace men, I think it is about damn time for men to get something that won’t drive them nuts through overly emotional and dramatic Poeple around them. I really think crime would go down as well.

  • With AI and lab wombs. Women and they're bullshit are obsolete

  • More ways to disconnect from reality. No thanks

  • Woody Allen predicted this in 1972:

  • It's easy to see that Google Gemini could easily be tweaked to be the best friend you would ever have (albeit a fake friend) and it would be a potentially be a manipulative one at that. And the speed of AI development is frightening.

Add to that an AV front-end (no doubt the porn industry are on this already), and follow up with increasingly capable forms of bipedal robot. Science fiction is already playing out right in front of us. Scary but true.

Furthermore, younger generations are struggling to form relationships with one another. Perhaps they'll ultimately just settle for the new tech instead.

No babies then. Which kinda dooms our societies at a time we need to get back to being families and growing the next generation.

  • It's a lot to take in and think about but maybe it could prevent the rise of incels
